Great beer, good home cooked food, very dog and human friendly, and our border collie, Rosie, thinks it's the best pub in the world...

Just moved into the area and took the dog for a long walk from water newton, found this little pub. Lovely little place. We stayed and some food with the dog. Every member of staff we had contact with was really friendly and welcoming the food was spot on. Lovely pub we’ll be back 100%

Good drinks and beer variety. They also have good food. I had the ale pie and sticky toffee pudding, both were really good.

Stopped for lunch while passing on the way to the seaside. Service was good. Food was very fresh, well presented, generous portions and delicious. Bought a meal for my toddler, sandwich arrived with no crusts, chips and salad with baby tomatoes (vs large tomatoes on the adult meals). It was lovely.

A nice cosy and target traditional pub with a great atmosphere and a good selection of local beers. The staff are all very friendly and do put in effort to make your visit enjoyable. The food is alright, though it can be a bit hit or miss with some menu items tasting a bit canned. Overall though it's a wonderful classic British pub.

This is a great little pub with a really good choice of real ales and ciders. The food served here is also very good. But mostly I would like to thank the landlord and landlady for really excellent service. I have only visited the pub 4 or 5 times and on three occasions I have taken a group of about 15 - 20 people. On our last visit we had booked a Sunday lunch for 14:30 for 7 adults, 5 children and 4 dogs! Unfortunately I underestimated how long it would take us to walk to the pub and we did not get there until after 3 o'clock when the chef had gone home BUT Kay and Si still managed to put on a splendid late lunch for us with all the trimmings! Much ale and wine was consumed as we spent a relaxed afternoon in one of the best pubs around. Thanks to Kay and Si for a great meal and good time - time after time! (I must try and get my band RnR a gig here :-) )

Great traditional pub. Fantastic selection of ales. Phenomenal value for money food. We had sandwiches which cam with a surprising large portion of chips and sizable salad. The filling was fresh and ample.
