We came across this pub having been on a family day trip and needed to eat on the way home. They managed to accommodate us as a family of 8 at short notice in the evening and were very friendly and helpful; in particular taking a lot of time helping my mum who has food allergies. Great food, reasonably priced and great service, we will be back, thanks again.

I recently went to The Rose and Crown for a family meal and was slightly nervous, being a vegan, as they had no food available for me on their menu! Due to this, when I got there I spoke to them and they were extremely helpful in making a meal that I could eat and enjoy, which was very tasty so I was very pleased; I heard all good things about the food from family members too so very happy with that😊 The staff are also very friendly, and there is an extensive gin menu which I was a big fan of. The only downside for me was the fact that you couldn't pay on card for anything unless you got cashback (and took the added fees). If they brought in card with no charge then it would be a 5* review!

Food and staff were fantastic, we had Sunday lunch here (29/10/17) and it was the best Sunday meal I have ever had in a restaurant/pub. The vegetables were spot on , roast potatoes to die for and the lamb and gravy were perfect. The staff were polite and as we just dropped in and hadn't booked they done all they could do to accommodate us. I would thoroughly recommend eating here :)

Came here to get lunch on a Sunday. All four of us had a lovely meal and were greater by very friendly staff. The kids fish goujons were very large which they were very happy of. Myself and my mum both had the fish and we were not disappointed. Very tasty meal, a very large size with lots of vegetables on the side. Will be going back when we are in the area.

We have been to the Rose and Crown in Thorney three times recently. On each occasion we have had an excellent meal. Once for Sunday lunch. Extensive menu all freshly home cooked.Portion sizes are generous and a good choice of desserts. Staff are very friendly and helpful and the Guinness is excellent. Would definitely recommend a visit.

Had an excellent lunch here. Friendly staff and a lovely room where you could dine with the dog under the table. They brought water for our four-legged friend and a couple of dog biscuits. A welcome break from the congestion on our return from holiday.

Thankyou so much for a wonderful Christmas lunch, we thoroughly enjoyed it. Our son & daughter in law came down from Hull for Xmas, it's their favourite place to eat. Many thanks to all the staff, very polite and the service was first class. Best wishes for 2020. Clive & Brenda Bell. Xx

Price is very reasonable, good portions and everything cooked wonderfully. Sauces seemed homemade, gravy pulled everything together. Traditional bread and butter pudding to finish was great.

The food that the Rose and Crown serve is one of the best out there, there's the little, if anything, I can fault it for. The pub/restaurant itself has its "quirks", like most pubs/restaursnts do, which I think adds something, and makes it somewhat unique. I would thoroughly recommend going here - although I would be careful if you have any allergies, as there is nothing on the menus for this, and so you must make sure to contact them in advance, to see if they are able to accommodate for you.

Had Christmas day Lunch there and what a great treat it was the restaurant was airy with room to move the staff impeccable friendly and nothing was to much trouble the Christmas lunch itself was a treat for the tastebuds and between each course you had time to relax and let your food settle . I found the whole experience very very good and by all accounts there Sunday Lunches are just as good if you are in the area or live near by this is a little hidden gem in the heart of Cambridgeshire and well worth the visit .

Very Old English Pub. Typical old fashioned style. Lots of old cosy atmosphere, beams, pews, benches, tables and chairs. A few seperate dining areas too. Menu looked a bit pricey but the food we saw being served looked lovely, was more gastro food and was being served all day. A lovely enclosed courtyard with picnic type benches and tables with umberellas Bright plants and pagoda with climber plants.

Ate here with a friend once before - both very impressed. Visited again last night: three of us ate, had drinks and coffee and not a single complaint. Everything was very nice and sensibly priced too.
