I've been coming to the Taj for 20 years and have never been anywhere better. The food is consistently excellent and the staff friendly and courteous. Even though I've moved away from Peterborough it's worth the journey every time !
I loved being here-from the moment I walked in the staff were so friendly and helpful. The service was great and the food was mouth wateringly tasty. I'd reccomend this restaraunt to everyone.

Best takeaway curry we've had. It did take a long time and was 15 mins late but very tasty.
Perfect visit, it was late and quiet when I arrived but the staff were more than happy to open the restaurant back up for me, seating me in the best spot and being incredibly attentive to my needs. As you can see from the photo, the food was gorgeous, really do recommend!
Went to visit this place, as I was away on a work visit, tried the food it was amazing and flavorful, the only down side is that the interior is very old..

I’m from Birmingham and it’s a tough show to follow when it comes to Indian/Pakistani food. I’m Pakistani of origin. This establishment has one of the tastiest and authentic food I have had . Definitely returning with the rest of my colleagues later on the week. Very friendly staff. Smashed it out the park.
As a man who works away a lot, I have managed to find a quality restaurant/takeaway in every city around the UK, which I frequent often. Each of these places are fantastic in themselves but the Taj Mahal in Peterborough I have to say is not only an exceptional restaurant, it’s hands down the best curry I have ever had. Literally. Amazing staff, very courteous, friendly and accommodating. And they have a magician as a chef. You have to taste it to understand. My go to place for Peterborough. Definitely recommend.
This restaurant was well rated, so I thought I would give it a try. I wasn't disappointed. I started with poppadoms and a colourful chutney tray. For main course I had a prawn vindaloo, which was satisfyingly hot, washed down with Cobra beer. My friends and I were well looked after throughout the meal, with regular drink top-ups offered. A friendly and funny service was provided.
Only ordered a takeaway but it was perfect. Curry came with pilau rice which I didn’t realise and was happy about. I ordered the balti keema and the lamb chops. Both were brilliant. Deliver was fast and a couple free Popadoms thrown in too. Definitely going to be ordering again

One of the Indian takeaways I frequent the most.
Prompt delivery - always delivered warm without any issues.
My main issue with many Indian takeaways is the copious amount of oil particularly on gravy, rice or vegetable dishes - this is NOT a case which is why I particularly enjoy the food here.
Meat dishes could perhaps be more competitively priced but overall a good takeaway experience.
Food and service excellent. Dont know why this place isnt pack out ! Think if they did banquet nights it would be rammed

The sauces that came with the papadoms were fantastic, huge selection.
. Had a chicken dish and it was delicious , and my friends had chicken and a lamb dish all were excellent . I also had an aloo paratha which was lovely and crispy outside and lovely and soft inside . Kingfisher beer on tap . Super friendly staff member who may have been the owner , very helpful choosing dishes and very polite . Would hight recommend this restaurant
I had a home delivery from here last night for the first time, and it is going to be my new go-to for Indian food! It was utterly delightful. The curry was really tasty, the rice was perfect. Honestly, it was the best curry I've had since I moved up from London. Oh, and it arrived in a really timely manner too.
Went here for my daughter's birthday with a whole load of dietary requirements, gluten-free, dairy-free, vegetarian, can't eat spicy food, won't eat spicy food, vegan...I think we covered all the bases to make us a nightmare for the restaurant but they catered for us brilliantly. Best Indian food we've had outside India too. Brilliant service. We'll be back!
