I have been in a few times for lunch now, the staff work well as a team, the seating is comfortable, everything is clean and freshly decorated. The food is served in nice portions, tastes lovely with fresh salad. Your table mat is like a sheet of news paper with stories about Perth, worth reading while waiting for your food, especially the tourists. I took my mum and dad there on saturday and they both loved it, dad had what he described as probably the best gammon steak he has had out (special of the day), mum had macaroni cheese, too much for her to eat, but I had some to taste and it was really nice. I had the 'Lindsay's steak pie with mashed potatoes, broccolli and carrots, excellent! My wife loves the panninis, nuff said! Sweets menu is well worth saving space for, sticky toffee pudding to die for, and apple crumble with a jug of custard ( cream or ice cream an option ) big portions there for sweet tooths! Coffee is 'illy' brand, and you get a nice cake/biscuit about 1" square with it, which is a nice change from the usual wee round biscotti. This is a newly opened pub, the effort they are putting in to make eating there a good experience has made me want to go there as a first choice.
Such good pub food for so cheap. I had the tavern burger and it was really good. It was Sunday so it was a bit quiet but everyone was nice and we had a great meal.
Absolutely amazing from start to finish ! The manager is an absolute delight, she couldn't be nicer or more attentive. Nothing was to much trouble. Would like to say a huge thank you to her she really did make our time enjoyable. The cocktails were the best I've had anywhere in Perth! We had starters main and dessert and I could not fault any of it. The food was delicious, fresh and very large portions. We also had a kids meal for our son which was freshly made and again large portions very tasty. We have eaten in most places in Perth and I have to say for food,service and cocktails this is bar far the best we have had in a very long time. I would highly recommend booking because the minute it opens it is very busy. If you have not tried this place I would highly recommend going as soon as you can! We will definitely be back!
Great for lunch, have visited a few times now and the food is always great. Recommend the fish and chips, and the onion rings!
Covid precautions are also good, staff wear masks and tables are wiped down regularly. There is a sign in sheet too.
Visiting from Belfast and staff were welcoming. Excellent service, excellent food and very reasonably priced. Did not want to leave! Will definitely be back, thank you
Highly rate this place 😀 10 out of 10.🏆🏆 Great service and welcome! 🍺 Fish and chips were the best my hubby has had. My aunt loved the half portions of steak pie as a full portion would have been too much. I had a lovely half portion of macaroni cheese. Meals came with chips and salad, vegetables with the steak pie. Desert was yummy 🎂🍦🍰. Excellent
value for money.

While it's closed for now, it won't be forgotten. Was always great craic, with good food and live music. Hopefully when it reopens it'll capture the same vibe it had. Good luck new owners!
Friendly, delicious fish and chips, a good old traditional pub with comfy seating for a meal. I also asked if they were aware of 'asking if 'Angela' is there', the coded request for help should anyone, male or female feel they may be in a vulnerable situation and requesting help and safety of staff, and they were.
Great food wonderful atmosphere live music great choice of beverages. Great staff.
I just love the place. The staff is always very friendly and Jane, the manager, always goes the extra mile for her customers.
The pub is suitable and safe for all, including children and well behaved dogs.

Fantastic Scottish pub in the centre of Perth. I have been in here on several occasions and never found it too crowded to get access to the bar. The staff are wonderful and the food is fine for the budget. They are currently doing a small portion of fish and chips for £4.50 and when it arrived it would rival some standard portions. The steak pie is constantly of a lovely edible standard. Just what I would expect of pub grub. No bells or whistles here. But first class service.
Love this place. Great service and first class pub grub. You won't be disappointed when you visit this pub. Family feel.

Spent 8 hours in Perth for the first time. My mum is from Perth and wanted to show me where she was raised. I visited ‘The Tavern’ for a final drink before heading back to Edinburgh and was met with a lovely lady named Rachel. Her welcome was so warm and she went above and beyond offering the best customer service I received from any establishment I had visited in Perth! My mum said the cappuccino was 10/10 (better than Wetherspoon which we visited earlier) and I thoroughly enjoyed my Prosecco which I was surprised by the cost as it was great value for money. Highly recommend and thanks for having us! Hope to see you again in the near future!
