We went for Sunday lunch A great welcome on arrival followed by a lovely champagne and rhubarb cocktail whilst we looked over our menus . My husband and I had a guest with us who had eaten out and about with us all week and had remarked “ that lunch was the best I’ve had this week infact in a long time “ Was delicious Highly recommend a visit Spot on Yum

Just had a fantastic meal at The Roost Restaurant. Very accomodating and friendly service. Nice touch was the free kids menu for under 10's. The chef is certainly cooking to a high standard. Even the puddings are surprisingly unique with multi layered and intriguing taste. Highly recommended.

Recently had lunch here for the first time. It was the best meal I've had since I ate at Gleneagles last October. Portion size perfect and I could taste all the different flavours. Wonderful wonderful wonderful!!! I'm recommending to all my friends and family. My only negative is that the restaurant is very small and tables close so private conversations not possible. Food and service top notch though.

Had the most amazing lunch today at The Roost Restaurant. Every bit of the Scrabster cod with Welsh rarebit was to die for...including the pesto, and the stripy tomatoes. Will most definitely be returning to sample the dinner menu...

Awesome food. Everything was outstanding, discovered you by chance thanks to Google maps last Friday on the way up to Peterhead and were back yesterday. Some of the best I've ever eaten. The venison liver was stunning

Absolutely fantastic little restaurant. Great service, friendly staff and surprised us with a Happy Anniversary dessert for myself and my wife's wedding anniversary. The food was amazing; absolutely gorgeous and made.to perfection. I would highly recommend anyone looking for that extra little experience that won't break the bank.

Fabulous meal. Covid secure. Top quality ingredients used in all dishes and cooked very well. Service was good, friendly efficient waitress and nice gaps between courses. Did not feel rushed at all. Loved all the food. Would definitely return.

A lovely little restaurant. Was very quiet when we went. The place is lovely. The staff friendly and helpful. Not your everyday food sold here, so it was a nice change to try something different. The sides are enough to share and unique and really nice. I had the monkfish and it was yum. Not really a place to bring kids due to the type of meals. But a must go to place

Excellent food, I ordered the chateaubriand and it was the best steak I've ever had! A star deducted for service, which was a little clunky although the staff were very polite. We weren't given a menu and there was quite a long wait for food & drinks. Would recommend.

6 of us went for Sunday lunch to celebrate our eldest turning 9. I can't fault our visit. We were made to feel very welcome. I took cake in for the birthday boy. Our youngest loved the kids menu and the birthday boy ate every last scrap of his roast dinner. My mum had soup, two of us had pork belly and one breaded plaice to start. Every single one was packed with flavour and perfectly cooked. We all had the roast beef. It was thinly sliced, soft, juicy and pink. The carrots and parsnips were roast beautifully as well as perfect roast potatoes and a fluffy Yorkshire pud. We cheekily asked for more gravy as it was so good. My youngest had the macaroni cheese, again it was perfectly cooked and bursting with flavour. The wine list is excellent and there is a lovely selection of aperitifs. We can't wait to have an occasion to return!

Fantastic food! Everything we tried was superb. Although we aren't vegetarian, the vegetarian options of salt baked celeriac and the Jerusalem artichoke were our favourites. We'll definitely be back again soon.

We had lunch booked at the Peat Inn, but they cancelled so we booked this place as a fall back. Well, am I glad we did, absolutely superb food (Pork belly, Chateaubriand and chocolate tart) made with top quality ingredients, the service was unhurried and all in a lovely atmosphere. We will definitely be back. The Peat Inn's loss is The Roost's gain!

Cannot fault anything about this restaurant. Fabulous food, fabulous service in a perfect setting. So difficult to choose as the menu was full of mouth watering selections and each choice we made did not fail to amaze.
