When we go to Penzance we regularly pop into Waves cafe/bar for coffee and cake or a snack and always find the food and service excellent. There's always something delicious on the menu, the cakes are to die for, the waiting staff are very polite and attentive and the owners always make a point of saying hello and stop for a chat if it's not too busy, which isn't often as it always seems busy, would highly recommend it to anyone.

1st time in Penzance and we popped in for breakfast. We weren't sorry!! I had a freshly cooked, very tasty full english breakfast with a chunky slice of granary toast. Staff were chatty and helpful. The premises and toilets were very clean. Would recommend

Could not find a better place to eat in Penzance for last two years. Freshly prepared food served with a lovely smile on the face. Friendly and warm place to have a lunch or coffee and cake. :-)

Love this place the food is great. But the best is the staff, lovely & friendly & as for the 2 looney northerners who run Waves, you couldn't wish to meet a nicer couple

Spent a lovely time at Waves Cafe yesterday lunching with my friendly neighbours. I had a ham/cheese pannini and they had moussakas, all washed down with rose wine. Excellent food and company. Well done Waves :)

Waves is the best cafe/restaurant in Penzance. 4 of us are our lunch there yesterday, wasn't busy when we went in, but within 5 minutes, was filling up nicely. The man was very helpful, menu and drinks arrived fast. We all had different and all was perfectly cooked and very tasty. Ladies was clean too. Will be our go to cafe regularly now. Thanks to all xxxx

My friend has been raving about waves for weeks, and we finally got there together today. We both had the most delicious roasted veg, pesto, and mozzarella ciabatta served with a rocket leaf salad. We both took home a slice of lemon and blueberry cake too! We will most certainly return for the friendly atmosphere and fabulous food 😀

We visited on a Monday lunchtime and there was plenty of room, we chose a round table in the window. Very friendly waiting staff, drinks arrived quickly and food took about 20 minutes but boy aas it worth the wait. Two of our three had the locally sourced Newlyn cod and chips, we agreed it was extremely good, in my case top three for all the fish and chips I've ever had, very tasty, flaky, moist white flesh, very fresh obviously, with lovely firm garden peas and double cooked chunky chips, a slice of lemon. The third member of our party had the halloumi burger and was equally impressed, a good amount of halloumi plus other veg in the burger bun itself. Not sure if it relates to Waves itself but there was a For Sale board above the frontage, hopefully not this excellent establishment. We'll definitely be back when we're here in Penzance again.

We and our pooch received a very warm welcome inside the cafe, staff were lovely and attentive. Our little pooch was accomodated and served sausages in her very own dog bowl, truly awesome. Our meals were fresh and tasty and well presented. Cafe was very clean and staff attended to vacated tables quickly. Thank you for a lovely meal 10 July 2023.

Had excellent crab sandwich for lunch. Good selection on the menu and some nice looking cakes - which I resisted on this occasion.

Lovely cakes but the manager (owner?) didn’t seem nice at all. Waitress pushed 2 tables together and he came striding over and snapped that she couldn’t push them together as they’d break off the corners. I understand that but there is a way of doing that without being so abrupt (towards staff not us). Having read the other reviews it seems this is a trend. They’re selling up so I’m guessing the owner’s customer service has meant a decline in custom. Shame as a great space and very few decent cafes in the area.

Just had lunch here, superb customer service, so friendly and the food was superb. Care and attention to us as customers, was also extended to our little Cavalier King Charles - Ruby. Thank you so much, will not be forgotten. Many many thanks. Steve, Nicki & Ruby
