Lovely place for a bite to eat and a pint or 3. Staff were amazing and lovely place for a lazy afternoon, beautiful, warm and inviting surroundings. Its a must visit!
Lovely place, a few of us camped here over the weekend, the place was spotless and the owner and staff were really nice, with a great selection of drinks and the food smelt amazing, would love to stay here again soon
Just had a spot of lunch here! Food was absolutely gorgeous! It’s the nicest lasagna I think I’ve ever had!! Staff were really lovely, and the fact that our dogs were also very welcome was fantastic! Highly recommend this place! Can’t wait to go back!
Excellent food and good atmosphere. Lovely place to eat, drink and be merry, especially if you have a camper.. room for those too
This is a lovely pub. It has great character and atmosphere that is complimented by the warm and friendly staff. Service was brilliant and we highly recommend this pub.
We had a 4 night stay last week. Boy...What a fabulous time we had. The hospitality, the food, the beer, our room and most of all the welcoming atmosphere. Got thoroughly chilled out. A great big THANK YOU to the hosts Gerald and Janine and also to Craig Whitney the head bar honcho. We enjoyed our stay so much we are already planning our next visit for September 2018. We highly recommend this establishment. Well done and thank you again. :-D
A couple days spent in the Brecons. Walked Pen y fan and then to our hotel at Craig a nos. We passed the pub on the way to hotel and thought it looked a great little pub. Went down that night and we had a great time. Loads of real ales which pleased my hubby and the staff were very helpful with choice of beers. Booked a table and enjoyed a couple more beers. So good we went there a second night and did it all over again. Excellent Choice of beers and great food. A great find. Definitely be visiting again. Thanks Dawn and Pete
Excellent food. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend a visit.
Stopped off for a bit of lunch whilst out on the bikes yesterday, just wanted to say the cod was outstanding and cooked to perfection, compliments to the chef
Just spent 3 nights in the Ancient Briton for a small reunion with old Friends.
The staff were excellent, the food was very good, and the room was very reasonably priced.
The Landlord is hilarious and made us feel very welcome.
I would definitely stay again when next in the area.
The best pub in the Swansea Valley and Powys throughly enjoyed drinking the Real Ales they had there last night Snowdonia and Marstons Pedigree.
Popped in yesterday for a swift pint after a lovely walk at the falls. Lovely atmosphere, friendly staff, and most importantly excellent washrooms!!. Will definitely call in again when we are on the area. Loved Rosie's Pig Cider!
This place is a definate must fir anyone passing nearby. Amazing food!! Wonderful polite service. 10/10
Welcoming staff and friendly locals. Lots of ales on tap and the food is spot on.
We stopped in here after a visit to the local caves. Stopped on the off chance we could get a table and we did. The staff went out of their way to put two tables together to accommodate us for lunch. Wow, what an amazing lunch we had. We honesty haven’t had a meal of such quality and taste for a long time. We had different meals and all were made to perfection and absolutely flawless too. I don’t often review food but we’ve visited May places I’ve the past few months and this has been the best by far. Well done to all for running an amazing pub with amazing food too. We would highly recommend. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ five stars and worth every one. Thank you for accommodating us for lunch.
Had a lovely meal. Haven't been here for approximately 6 years. Able to take dog. Table service. Nice menu selection with vegan options. There is a fabulous beer garden with an outside food van. Ample parking.
Visited for a family meal (3 generations) and all enjoyed our food. Not cheap but generous portions and all excellent. Nice selection of ales for me and my son. Service pretty good considering how busy the servers were. Would recommend and will visit again.
Had a family meal for my sisters birthday. The evening meal was fabulous for all 8 of us. Myself and my husband stayed over night. The room was lovely and comfortable the mountain view was great. Breakfast the following morning 10 out of 10. Many thanks to all the staff.
We stopped at The Ancient Briton while looking for somewhere for lunch.
We just happened to be driving past so stopped, turned round and went in.
We checked and dogs are welcome in the bar area (we had our dog with us).
The staff were very friendly, helpful and efficient. The food was lovely. Good portion size! It was all very reasonably priced too.
If we are in the area again we will try to pop in!
We stayed one night. Room looked good, power went a bit up and down. Likely power from a generator. Pub below was a bit noisy at night, but stopped at a decent time. Right next to the road. As it was warm, windows where open, and the noise comming from passing motorcycle where overwelming. Other than that a lovely stay. Breakfast was a bit standard. Food evening before was good, average priced. Had a double Baileys(5 or 6 zips), paid more than 10 quid. Found that taking the piss. Would recommend.
Nice pub with a great selection of real ale and cider. Nice atmosphere. We only popped in for drinks, so I can't comment on the food or the accommodation. Would definitely visit again.
We visited on a very busy Saturday evening and fortunately we had booked a table. The staff were amazing, we were never left waiting for anything even though the pub was chocker.
Absolutely fantastic service and the food/beer was great too!
The food was lovely, both me and my wife tried the steak (ribeye and rump). My ribeye was topped with Stilton as per the pic. It was cooked to perfection. Service was also great. The bar area was lively with the feeling of a friendly village local pub and the seating was far enough away so it was unobtrusive. Would recommend 👍
Not eaten here yet but the food on other tables looked and smelt amazing!
We shall return for food!
We sat on a bench outside which was beautiful, especially with the scenery!
Inside the pub is a beautiful restaurant and the staff are lovely!
Can't wait to return!
The BEST roast dinner we have EVER had. I Strongly recommend this beautiful pub nestled close to the Brecon beacons national Park. The staff were very polite and friendly, if I could give it a 10 star ⭐ rating I would. Book first though.
Booked the camp site because of restaurant's good reputation. Well deserved.
You can eat well on pie night for under £30 for two.
I love this pub, the food is always amazing. We pop in every time we're in Wales and enjoy the atmosphere. The staff are always so friendly and happy. Just the nicest little pub.
We had a one night stay here in April 2023 for my wife’s birthday weekend spent walking in the Brecon Beacons. We enjoyed a double room (room 1) with a Mountain View, dinner on a Friday night in the restaurant area and a traditional Welsh breakfast on a Saturday morning. The room was well appointed, clean and very comfortable with a huge bathroom. Tea, coffee and water all provided along with a nice range of toiletries in the bathroom. Despite being a room above a busy pub the room was very quiet and we could not hear the pub at all. The homemade food was all delicious and warming - both dinner and breakfast. All the staff were super friendly and helpful and we had a really nice stay. We would certainly recommend this to anyone. We both agree we would return without hesitation.
Went for lunch, arrived early glad we did, we will book next time as it filled very quickly....no wonder fab service, delicious food, thoroughly enjoyed, 3 course lunch meal, will definitely returning. Staff where very friendly and efficient.
