Pleasant stop when heading through the lake district. Nice cafe for a bite and a cuppa, with some lovely views. The farm shop is nicely stocked with a decent butchery and many other treats. Definitely a handy stop to make. Dog friendly too. Staff were friendly and helpful.
Brunch coffee stop this morning.
Cracking place. Food is fresh tasty and filling.
Lovely coffee.
Staff very helpful.
Toasty wood burner was on , a bonus on a grey cold morning.
The shop is a visual delight.
Visiting bird in the feeders fun to watch...and attempt to photograph.
Had heard about the Basecamp North Lakes and had driven past the place on many occasions. Decided on a whim to visit and see what it was like and had to offer. Visited at lunchtime and found plenty of car parking spaces. It was busy with a well stocked farm shop containing a diverse selection of meats, vegetables, cereals, chocolate, cheese biscuits and drinks both alcoholic and non alcoholic. The food available to purchase from the refrigerated section including pastry, meat, pies and cakes was really good.
We had lunch which was really enjoyable. Freshly made and the menu selection was really good with a daily specials board as well - main meals & desserts. A very enjoyable lunch and it was reasonably priced. All in all terrific value for money.
Lovely cafe and 'real foods' shop. On the site of the llama attraction but separate, so anyone can pop in for coffee and cake, a tasty lunch, 3kg of sausages or a novelty pumpkin 🎃 ... would thoroughly recommend, and if you're a pudding person ask for custard (or ice cream) with your cake 😋
Probably the best cheese scone we've ever had, nice staff, great ambience, rustic but modern and clean
Very busy but very efficient. Food fresh and flavoursome. The staff were very attentive and quick.
Lovely location as well
Planned a stop at this farm shop on the way to our holiday let. We were spoilt for choice on cakes and dinner options.
I picked up some superb cakes, sausages rolls, pies, veggies and cookies.
Didn’t get to see the lama or alpaca, we’ll try again next time.
Absolutely superb
Update- we stayed in the area for a week and got all of our supplies from here and breakfast in the cafe on our way home. I even saw the herd. Highly recommended
Looks a great shop and cafe, lots of car parking. I stopped to buy a drink and look at the animals. Very friendly staff!
We booked the private alpaka walk with Terry. It was from the first to last minute great fun for both the children and the adults. Terry told us many interesting things about lamas and alpakas and the most important thing we found out was the following: In the morning a gate is being opened to a paddock and the alpakas who are willing to go for a walk with the people can gather there. As reason of this it is secured, that all alpakas who go walk, are there on their free will and are forced to nothing.
The alpakas are so nice and easy to handle, the whole family fell in love with them.
In the farm store a lot of home-made things are available e.g. homemade cakes, ham, bacon and good coffee.
Thank you Terry and Team for the great time we spend in basecamp north lakes!
if your passing, and in need of .... cake, call in
The shop has good local food to takeaway , excellent cafe
I cannot resist the cake, (with Custard ! )
