Had a last minute meal before getting the train. New ownership are making this a clean pleasant experience. All freshly cooked and good size portions.
Just visited for a drink before catching train so location was good staff very nice and friendly.
Large building and quite old by the look of it.. check in was fine with friendly staff and tge rooms were clean and despite being a little dated the beds were comfy and offered a good night's sleep. We didn't avail ourselves of a stop in the bar as it looked pretty empty, instead we went out into t
Lovely service clean rooms. We initially got a room facing the raid which was a tad noisy, when asked they moved us swiftly into another room with no issues. Literally a stone's throw away from the station. Was a very convenient stop over for us.
Excellent service. Food was amazing. As I was cycling the c2c it was an ideal place to stop. Staff were so helpful and locked my bike up for the night. The breakfast was lovely and set me up for the day.
Been to Penrith number of times and always passed this place never looks the part,,called in had a drink very nice probably try the food next time
Would give it 5 stars if I stayed for longer and managed to try the food and bar but the room was lovely and the location convenient. Lady who gave me my key was splendid and very helpful. One thing, there was a lot of late night raucous outside but that's not the hotels fault, merely a circumstance
great location, very close to the station. interiors a little dated but can’t fault the room it was spotless! i had a great night’s sleep. my room also had a lovely view of the castle which was a bonus!
Lovely welcome. Staff really helpful. Rooms comfortable, younger generation may say it's old fashioned but we had a good night's sleep and will certainly stay again.
The staff were very friendly and helpful. Even though the decor is dated it has a certain charm. Rooms were clean and considering the location on the main road it was very quiet. Dinner was the biggest surprise -food is fantastic the prawns and steak all excellent quality and cooked to perfection
I went here and had Sunday lunch. With my family. It was great. Didn't book as I normally do, as gluten and dairy free. They had plenty to options. I had roast dinner😊
Arrived in a Friday. Evening staff could not do enough for us. Breakfast on Saturday was a different matter. One lady working in her own for quite a few guests. Obviously stressed, attitude so rude it was funny, not dissimilar to a female version of Basil Fawlty. Just felt a bit sorry for some of th
Great place. I absolutely loved it. The food was amazing, I suggest you book breakfast there as well because it is exceptional. The staff really make you feel at home. And to be honest who wouldn't want to wake up to a view of a castle just outside their window. This was my first trip to the Uk and
Lovely place. Clean room and friendly staff. Initially thought that the pub downstairs may be a bit loud but we had a fantastic nights sleep no disturbances. Will definitely be visiting again when we are next in Penrith! :)
I arrived at this hotel on Sunday and was really pleased with my booking. The hotel is very central to the town centre, only a couple of minutes walk from the town centre. The staff were really friendly and helpful. The room was amazing - I got a family room for £65 and it was a great sized room,
Great food, friendly staff and good sized portions.
Old hotel but clean, reasonable rates, friendly accommodating staff. I would definitely consider staying again.
