Came across this great place whilst on a road trip, food was so fresh and really lovely
This is a great find for some good food in a relaxed informal environment.
When you first get to the location it's not obvious there is some fine dining on site, you make your way through the garden centre which on each of my visits doesn't suggest the business is in full bloom but persevere and make your way to the tearoom, which will offer you some excellent food. You can choose straight forward scones and cakes fitting it's tearoom heritage, through to high quality and innovative three courses. No real wine list to accompany, but really excellent food.
Twice a year they do a taster menu which I hear is most excellent, testing current trends and experimental, especially for a little village garden centre.
Hunt this place out, it is brilliant and a real find.
Fantastic food but popular so you are better booking. The attached garden centre is minimal but I believe things are having an upgrade so watch this space. Parking for the garden centre but only a couple of spaces at the top for the tearoom, which means a bit of a hike up the hill :-) Worth it though.
A real hidden gem. Hidden because its in a tiny village yet has the quality of menu and presentation of an upmarket establishment
Coffee shop attached to the garden centre, but one of the better finds especially as not everyone knows about it so it tends to be more cosy.
Right behind the shop is the Settle to Carlisle Railway which has frequent steam trains and they do a very wide selection of cakes and main meals.
Only minor issue can be the walk up several steps and a path, so not too easy for wheelchairs, but beyond that it's well worth a visit.
Called for morning coffee. Very impressed with pleasant atmosphere and good service.
Absolutely gorgeous food, we had smoked haddock souffle with a delicious mornay and chive sauce. Great service too. Thoroughly recommend
Excellent food at great prices served by lovely, friendly staff. What's not to like!
Having had the good fortune to have eaten in some of the best restaurants on 3 continents, it was an unexpected delight to discover the best stake I have ever tasted being served at Mrs Miller's, I cannot recommend it highly enough, you will not be disappointed, but I do recommend booking your table in advance, as they are extremely popular.
Superb hidden gem just off the A66. Don't miss the chance to call in here for the delectable food and really friendly service all with incredible value for money! So glad our original lunch venue was closed!!!
