EAT HERE. This is a superb little bistro in Penrith. Right by the church. The food was really good and the prices VERY reasonable. Ignore the other "milk" review. This family operated bistro served an excellent steak, provided great service, and is a credit to Penrith.

After having a wander round Penrith we decided to stop here for lunch and after a quick scout through the menu we were sold.
I opted for the vegetarian club sandwich (hummus, grilled peppers, toms and carrots) which I 100% recommend and the soup of the day. My husband had the chilli jam, sausage and cheese grilled sandwich and I’ve never seen his plate left so clean!
The service was fab and the whole place had a lovely feel to it. If you ever find yourself hungry in Penrith then I definitely recommend this cafe, the food was delicious all round!
I had already eaten half of my lunch before taking the picture but thought I’d share it anyway!
Stumbled upon this unassuming bistro while looking for lunch in Penrith. No-frills, casual spot serving unpretentious, delicious food at honest prices. Friendly service too. Glad we picked this spot!
Good variety on the lunch menu, including gluten-free options.
Food was fresh and reasonably priced.
Cosy place in a nice building.
We arrived in Penrith on Friday afternoon really hungry and desperate for a good meal.We lucked out as spotted the Lemon Tree.We had the most delicious homemade pie served with amazing mash and lovely fresh vegetables. The staff were very friendly and you can tell they pull out all the stops to provide good service and high quality, excellent food.Highly recommended!
I visited recently and had a delicious vegetarian breakfast, all real food, what a find.
Excellent food. Good prices. Throughly enjoyed it. Will definitely go again.
Stopped in for a quick breakfast and was pleasantly surprised to see the menu contained items that obviously had some effort put into them - like the homemade sausages on the full breakfast, absolutely delicious!
I think I have just found my new regular breakfast stop.
Best BLT I've ever had in my life
Lovely meal staff very friendly and cafe was nice and warm, definitely will be back
Fantastic food and fantastic service! Highly recommended
Delicious freshly made food, friendly service.
Seht schönes Café mit sehr gutem selbstgemachten Essen. Das Frühstück ist perfekt und die Scones sehr gut.

See nice café with very good homemade food. The breakfast is perfect and the scones are very good.
Great owners, lovely people. Friendly and smiley staff, pleasant atmosphere, I would probably add to the lemon tree theme and add more touches of lemon yellow to the decor here and there just to give it the sparkles it deserves, best undiscovered café in Penrith.
Food was excellent, staff friendly good value
Usually food and service is of a high standard at a reasonable price. However we recently visited and had turkey dinner and the meal was let down by the veg. Bland tasteless carrot batons and overcooked green beans. It was busy so maybe a one off problem.
Both the service and the food were excellent. They went above and beyond to provide me with gluten free alternatives to the specials. I had monk fish in a delicious sauce rather than battered. Was so nice to have a delicious gf desert as so rare. I had almond and orange cake (so light and moist) with ice cream. Fabulous. Thank you.
Quiet little cafe at the time we arrived had a quick lunch then had a walk around town .
We were greeted in a warm friendly manner. The place was beautifully decorated and warm. Extremely pleasing on such a cold day. The menu is well set out, with a wide range of dishes on offer. They also have a specials board. All food is cooked to order, both dishes we ordered were beautiful and well presented especially the steak pie. The coffee that is served also is exceptional...Definitely worth a visit 👌
