This review was due since August, visited this little gem on our visit to Waterside House campsite. Lovely owner (chef), made us feel welcomed. We throughly enjoyed the food, Chicken Achari, Tandoori platter and also got complimentary Chole chicken curry from the chef. Highly recommend the poppadums
Lovely little place for a curry! Found through Google and would highly recommend a visit if you're in the area. Food fantastic, delicious and plentiful, even gave us an extra poppadom and garlic naan on the house! Lower rating for the atmosphere due to the decor being a little tired and the big ligh
Ate here on the 05.08.23. Haven’t had a curry out for a long time and it was great. Really tasty aromatic food, and the waiting team were great, super friendly. One of the chaps said the restaurant had been there 26 years, so great to see that kind of support from the community. It’s a sure sign of
Had the Nihari and 👌🏼🧑🍳 the whole spices complimented the lamb perfectly. Have never had a curry like it, less a gravy and almost more of a stew, would get it with rice next time. Service was also really friendly and kind; will be back for sure.
The best Indian restaurant in Penrith, wouldn’t go anywhere else. Amazing food, always piping hot. Great choice, reasonably priced (especially the Thursday night special) and lovely, helpful, friendly staff
Lovely little India, cracking service and fresh, authentic food.
Dined in on a Monday evening and the staff were super friendly, and threw in little extras with our order which was very kind.
All the food was served hot and fresh, and all absolutely delicious.
Fully recommend.
This one is like going back in time to the 90's when the detail was all there. Bhuna'd onions, meat and breads from a tandoori and depth of flavour that only comes from a slow cook during the daytime prep hours. Very happy.
Chicken tikka dansak is my favourite of any Indian restaurant. Delicious.
Baha is friendly, looks after us quickly when we've finished work which is really appreciated 🤩
Super friendly restaurant with good choice of great food - (best Onion Bhaji ever!) and great value! - all within easy walking distance from town centre. Takeaway portions very generous.
There was no one else in the restaurant at 8pm on Sunday. The chicken madras was very good, as always, according to my husband. I had a vegetable mossalla which mostly contained onions and potatoes. The poppadoms and pickle tray were good, ascwere the rice and breads (naan and chapati).
The restau
We placed an order for collection last night. The staff were lovely and friendly. The food was really tasty and at a reasonable price. Thank you :)
Bring your own drink and food tastes lovely in my opinion
We really enjoyed our currys. True they were not heavily spiced, and we did season with a bit of salt, but the sauces were nice and their naans are tasty and fluffy. Staff was very kind with us. One star drop for their mango chutney which was disappointing.
Very average...
But I'm giving 4 star for staff who where really nice, price was ok but food very average.
as I think someone has mentioned before... it doesn't have a lot of kerb appeal from outside but is nice once your in
Been here twice now. Lovely staff, lovely food. Would recommend to others.
Very nice curry, vert hot and ready in great time. Order was exactly what we had asked for and we also got some extra poppadoms. In my opinion the best curry in the area.
Taste of Bengal (Penrith)- 4/5 £- whilst in the Lakes we needed something spicy and found this Bangladeshi restaurant (although serving Indian and Pakistani cuisine). We ordered sheek kebabs, chicken tikka, chicken rogan josh and lamb jalfrezi. All the dishes were good but were sweetened with either
The food was plentiful and delicious. The sheek shami kebabs were especially tasty 😋. Service was attentive and professional, we would eat here again if we return to Penrith
