We ate here last night. The food was hot and very tasty. The sevice was quick & staff were attentive. Lovely location. Would i eat here again! Maybe if i was in the area. A very safe menu, nothing special.
Had lunch at George III with the family a few times whilst holidaying in the area. Food and service was fantastic every time. I would especially recommend the Sunday roast and in particular the lamb. The views from the pub are also great.
We used the pub for our starting point to cycle along the estuary, which is a converted train track into a path that can be used in all weather conditions. The obligatory pop into the George III afterwards for some food was a good way to end the day.
We stayed here for two nights last weekend and had a wonderful time.
Our room was beautifully decorated, cosy and had everything we needed, even biscuits for our dog Monty.
Breakfast was lovely as was our evening meal. The location is fabulous and the view from our room of the toll bridge and the estuary was amazing.
The staff were lovely we really enjoyed our stay.
We love Dolgellau and have stayed in a few different places but this one is our favourite!
Dropped in for a spot of lunch after a walk along the Mawddach Trail.
Fantastic food, reasonably priced, friendly , polite and helpful staff. It’s a must if ever in the area. Luckily it’s local for me, but my first time visiting George III, and will definitely visit again
We've driven past the George III many times when on the toll bridge, this was our first visit and we weren't disappointed. The staff were friendly, polite and attentive. The food was amazing and we didn't have to wait long at all to be served. We'll definitely be back! Recommend.
A wonderful friendly, peaceful and comfortable overnight stay. Just what we were looking for. We were in need of a quiet, peaceful, comfortable, relaxing and nourishing overnight, this certainly delivered. The staff are friendly making us feel relaxed and welcome instantly. Our room was perfect. Thank you. We are looking forward to our next visit.
We’ve stopped here for food many times, and it’s always been great.
The food is exactly what you need - not overly posh, just tasty with a good menu selection.
In Summer you can sit outside by the water, which is an amazing view. The menu is smaller for outside, but it’s a lot busier then and they do a very good job of getting food out in a timely fashion.
In winter we’d sit upstairs, which is cosy and has plenty of seats. The full menu is available here.
My son and I eat here several times on our stay. Lovely staff, decent food with good portions and a beautiful setting and building. They were happy to make alterations to the menu which was great. Will definitely be back.
We only booked for one night but it was so good we booked another one! We were made so welcome as did our dogs. The food in the restaurant was amazing and it helped that the manager Leo had a brilliant sense of humour and he couldn’t do enough to make our stay wonderful. We will be back!!
I don't know where to start.
This place is just amazing all around. We've travelled all the way from Australia for a holiday all over the UK. While we have been in Wales, we've been trying to find great places to eat. After trying dozens of places so far, this one was the best.
We had the Sunday Roast which was outstandingly delicious and reasonably priced. Not to mention how quick everything was served after ordering and even how quickly we got a booking, considering it was very last minute -- as we called up on the way back from our day trip from Anglesey to Cardiff.
Now, the atmosphere and the view was what made this place as good as it was. The vibe was brilliant. On a nice rainy evening, George III Penmaenpool really shines. It's like something out of a book.
Rest assured, next time we're in Wales, we're coming straight back. And this time, with friends and a more open schedule so we can get a drink and relax after.
Top marks. Totally earned the 10% tip.
