Review Georgie's Canal Cruises - Penkridge

My daughter had her wedding on the boat. Drinks available on arrival. The ceremony took place on the boat and then a beautiful afternoon tea and trip up the canal. It was the most beautiful day and the staff were wonderful I would highly recommend it was so private and wonderful to enjoy the day with friends. So different but absolutely magical. Thank you so much. It is a day I will never forget

Hired the barge for the day, 6 adults and a 22yr old did the cruise. We all enjoyed our day, the scenery was beautiful. The boat was smaller than the plans suggested but it was adequate. It contained a 2 ring gas hob, kettle, fridge, cups, glasses, plates , bowels and cutlery, A picnic table. The only thing I would suggest is to take a blanket or cushions to sit on the bow side seats, they were extremely hard on the posterior when sitting for 8 hours. The inside benches were slatted wood and weren't as bad to sit on, they also had 3 cushions . We will be booking this trip again. We have recommended it to friends, who are booking it soon.

Absolutely loved this. Something completely different. Great food, great atmosphere and a great day out. We had pie and mash and was absolutely gorgeous. Piping hot food. 👌 Bar was fully stacked. We had a pot of tea, then a cpl of peroni beers and a orange soft drink for my wife. Definitely doing this again.

Great experience from start to finish. Friendly and professional staff who make delicious food. Whoever makes the sausage rolls, you are AMAZING, they are the best I have EVER tasted. Can't wait to do another trip with these guys again. Highly recommend 😊 10/10

Very chilled Sunday afternoon cruise, recommend the vegan prosecco afternoon tea....deee-lish!

We had got my mom a ticket for her birthday for the fish and chip cruise. We all absolutely loved it. The staff were all so polite, especially the lad who was serving us, fish and chips were great and it was generally just a lovely experience. Next on the list will be afternoon tea. Highly recommended.

The boat was decorated really nicely. We were greeted as soon as we arrived. The staff were friendly and fish and chips very nice. We were offered top ups on our tea throughout the cruise. We had an enjoyable cruise with lots of other boats to see. Look forward to trying another cruise soon.

My wife, daughter and son-in-law went to the Greek night cruise on the first weekend in September. We booked in advance, wise thing to do as they sell out, pre placed our food order and drove to Penkridge to board. The boat was beautifully decked out for the occasion and we definitely had a beautiful evening to cruise up the canal. Food was excellent, really tasty and good sized portions. Drinks were excellent value and staff were excellent, really friendly and couldn't do enough for you. We had a fab time. They do lots of different theme cruises throughout the year and we'll definitely be booking another one

Have just done a tea cruise with my wife and family and it was amazing from start to finish. My wife has terminal cancer and she wanted to go on a canal trip so we booked with Georgies Canal Cruises we were made very welcome the food was fresh and just right for the trip and the staff were very friendly and nothing was to much trouble the seating was also very comfortable with plenty of room to stretch out she was very happy and satisfied that she could tick that off of her list. I can highly recommend this facility and company well worth the money thank you very much

We recently celebrated a family birthday on Georgies Canal Cruises. We had a fabulous time sailing down to Penkridge and back, whilst tucking into delicious fish and chips. We had children with us, and they thoroughly enjoyed themselves as well. All the staff were very polite, hospitable and accommodating. Would highly recommend and we look forward to enjoying more cruises with Georgies in the future!

Really enjoy in canals boat only I disappointed is afternoon tea as I only had 3 finger of sandwich rest of my friends had 4 finger sandwich and one very small pork pie😳 & too much cakes as I rather have more sandwich & it cost me £21.95 I think it bit rip off the price

This is the second trip taken aboard Georgie's Canal Cruises and I can honestly say the minute you step aboard you are treated like family not a paying customer. Such a warm, relaxed and friendly atmosphere. The staff are all so friendly and cannot do enough for you, they were different on both trips and the service didn't alter. Our first cruise was a Fish & Chip supper and it was superb, with great portion sizes and served with bread and butter with a cup of mushy peas. Absolutely delicious � Having lived in Penkridge, and our favourite chippy being the one used by the Georgie's, I can definitely say you won't be disappointed! The second visit was on an afternoon tea with some work friends and again it was great. We were all seated together at the front of the boat which was great. Tea was topped up and sandwiches delicious, even the less adventurous amongst us were given plain sandwiches and all were happy. The cakes were all homemade and very yummy ! My only disappointment was not being able to have one of the scones, I have a strawberry allergy and forgot to tell them when booking, and although I asked for an alternative it was too late as they didn't have anything on board but that was totally my own fault ! Weather was pretty naff on both visits but it stop them being an enjoyable trip, made it more cosy and you still get to see the awesome views as you move along the canal. Would definitely recommend for something different and relaxing and I will definitely visit again � Thank you x

Been here on two different occasions, afternoon tea & fish & chip night, both times were excellent, staff were lovely couldn't do enough and the food was beautiful. Would definitely recommend. �

Hands down the best cruise around! What a really great way to end the evening having fish and chips, drinking cocktails and relaxing. The team looking after us were fantastic, enjoyed every minute of it and I would highly recommend this for anyone thinking of doing this!!

Came today with my sister for afternoon tea. I had a vegan option and the food was amazing. Best cakes I've ever had. Can't wait to come again.

We really loved it today! (Saturday 29 july 2pm trip). Thank you so much Georgie's Cruises! And lots of our group expressed that the cakes were really delicious! Our group loved the China and the beautiful drinks glasses too! You couldnt do enough for us. You all worked so hard to make our anniversary celebration a memorable day. We will definitely be back and many of our friends and family have expressed the same thoughts and are already planning future events with yourselves. The price is very reasonable with such a beautiful trip through stunning scenery included. Would thoroughly recommend.

I would like to say a big thank you to all the staff at George's canal cruises for helping to make my nan's 90th Birthday such a lovely afternoon today. The afternoon tea was lovely and a great selection for the children too. Nothing was too much trouble during our whole trip. We will definitely return x

Went for a hen do afternoon tea ..absolutely loved the whole experience the staff were lovely and friendly and all work very hard. Beautifully presented afternoon tea with mix matched china and crystal glasses. Never been on a narrow boat before so I was thrilled when we went through the locks. As it wasn't expensive I wasn't expecting it to be as good as it was,will definitely recommend Georgie's to all and can't wait to join them again. Thanks everyone you did yourselves proud.

Thoroughly enjoyed today’s afternoon tea even though the weather was rubbish. Very friendly staff and the sandwiches and cakes were delicious. Already speaking to friends to find out when I can go again.

Tonight’s cruise was wonderful l, a real treat for my friend and I. As a non drinker thank you so much for the fantastic range of mocktails. Everything was so reasonably priced. Fantastic hosting the service was excellent x
