We had a very nice Sunday lunch here, really nice food I would highly recommend it to everyone. starters were great I had the squid calamari very nice and crispy and had a very hefty portion. next the lamb, for my liking the lamb was a little overcooked but not to bad as the roast potatoes were absolutely incredible the best roast potatoes I have ever had Very generous with the gravy you get some on the plate and then another small jug to go with it. once again the desert was immaculate warm brownie with ice cream was very nice. to my surprise the espresso wasn't bad at all obviously not the best I have had but the best from a pub. once again the service was very good and the Christmas decor was very cosy. and lovely

The Groes Wen is now owed by Ego Mediterranean Restaurants, with a all new menu the dish are beautifully presented and taste delicious. The staff always willing to help & friendly. It can get busy on weekends so I recommend booking early

Came today for Sunday lunch at 2 courses for £20. The place is lovely and staff we could not fault. The only reason for 4 stars is they do not cater for dairy intolerant, so was unable to have a starter or a desert, but still paid the £20 for a main Sunday lunch. Food was lovely, was just a shame that you don't have any dairy free options. Also just to advise parking isn't great, as is really busy, so had to find somewhere else to park.

Excellent family meal last night. Food was excellent, lovely choice. My uncle is disabled and the staff were brilliant & so helpful as he had forgotten his blue badge. A special mention to our waitress Charlie, she was brilliant. We have been many times, last Christmas with friends and 2 weeks ago for Sunday lunch as we were on our way home from S Coast & couldn't resist calling in. Will definitely be back again.

Wow...what a restaurant!!!First time here and won't be last!!! Honestly, I didn't aspect to have a such nice welcome, service and food. Usually you don't get very nice meal from chain restaurants but this one deserves more than one visit!!! Very polite and attentive staff, very nice food with a nice selection on the menu. Very nice decor !!! We visited it for my wife's birthday and she enjoyed too!!! So, we will back soon!!!

We went to celebrate a family birthday. It was perfect The food was delicious and plenty of it. An amazing choice of both food and drinks so everyone could choose a favourite. Service was quick despite it being busy. There were lovely little touches like a free drink and a decorative birthday dessert . Excellent value for money and great staff. Thank you . You made a birthday quite special.

Sunday Lunch with friends. Lovely relaxing pub restaurant. Started with a goats cheese on toasted bread with a beetroot puree and attractive balsamic drizzle. Cheese was the usual strong flavour what disappointed me was the no choice whether the toast was dry on the side it was placed underneath the cheese and absorbed the puree and balsamic liquid and was extremely soggy which personally I really did not like. Still I ate it as it was flavoursome and did not want to mention it at the time because we were celebrating a close friend 50th birthday and it was inappropriate. Chef made a wonderful flavour just the soggy bread was really unpleasant.... Main course beef with vegetables, some of the beef was tender some not so, cauliflower cheese lacked cheese flavour, Yorkshire nice in appearance just a little bland no seasoning with roast potatoes not well roasted and slightly light in colour. Gravy nice just not a lot of it. Had a sticky toffee pudding that was superb just that service brought it to the table and the ice cream accompanying it had already gone past solid and had turned almost liquid. Coukd have put the scoop on as they were leaving for the table. Just little corrections needed but definitely worth a visit and yes before it's mentioned its a whinge....we will return soon.

We have visited Ego at The Groes Wen Inn twice now, both for lunch. The first time we took the standard lunch menu, which was very affordable and delicious. The second time we opted for the two course lunch menu. This was absolutely exceptional! The food was amazing (top compliments to the chef). The service is also outstanding. The menu is extensive, lots of options for all. Well done team!

Visited on a Tuesday evening - booked for 6pm . Very busy throughout the evening as Tuesday is "Steak night" where Steaks are at a discounted price. Our table of 9 included 3 children & all but 2 ate from the A La Carte menu - lots of choice available, the majority of us choosing 2 courses only. We were all pleased with our meal choices as food is exceptionally good. When we asked for the bill, I noted that a Service charge had been added-not sure what percentage of our bill that was but it amounted to £28. As we had eaten from the A La Carte menu, I was able to use a voucher for 20% off food A very pleasant celebratory birthday meal was enjoyed by us all

First time since it's refurbishment and new owners. Went on a Thursday early evening, not too busy, plenty of space. Great looking menu and various theme nights from steak Tuesday, Tapas Wednesday and skewers Thursday. My wife ate from the menu and had in her words the best sea bass ever. I had the mixed skewer, which was very nice. Great service from Ffion very polite and welcoming. We have arranged a return visit this week to try something else from the menu. Ordered Aperol Spritz but had to request to send them back as they mainly tasted of soda. No problems in doing this and very apologetic, 2 new ones arrived which were great. My 2 feedback points is that tables for 2 are not big enough to accommodate drinks and all the plates and skewer stands and the gents toilet needs a freshen up.
