After a fantastic tour at the Penderyn distillery, we decided to have lunch at the Red Lion Inn. Our luck put us by the cozy fireplace, and the dishes we ordered were not only visually appealing but also incredibly delicious. This charming, centuries-old country pub is nestled on a quaint country road, offering a warm and inviting atmosphere. The friendly staff served us with a smile, and we savored every bite of our meal, knowing it was made from locally sourced ingredients. The menu featured a variety of drink options to complement the flavorful dishes. While some might find a few menu items a tad on the pricey side, I personally believe that the superior quality of the food, combined with the delightful ambiance, justifies the cost. An excellent choice for those who appreciate good food in a delightful setting.

A lovely old cosy country pub, tucked away up a narrow country road. We stopped for lunch here today after experiencing zip world tower. Friendly service and delicious food, made with locally sourced ingredients. Plenty of different drink options too. Some of the food options may be deemed a little pricey by some, but personally I don't mind paying a bit more for good quality food, and enjoying it in a wonderful setting.

The best food and customer service around South Wales. I pride myself on visiting small gastro pubs that use quality ingredients to make signatures dishes. The menu is always a delightful surprise when we arrive and I always push the boat to try something new because the chef is fabulous. If you have booked here you are missing out. The owners went above and beyond to help us when our van got a puncture. Could ask for more from them. My wife even recieved a birthday card. Cant wait to go back!! J and A Jones

We stopped here for lunch whilst family members toured the Penderyn distillery. We had a seat by the fire and it was just lush. The food we ordered looked amazing. I have a nut allergy and advised of this and had no issues ordering and it was delicious! One star off for service as we did order an additional item that was never brought to us. It didn't affect the overall experience though and would definitely return.

What a truly lovely place. Food was fab. Staff were great. Will definitely be back to try the pizza in the Little Lion outside. Husband had chicken roast, friend had Rare beef roast which he said was lovely, my friend and I had Fish of the Day which was Plaice. A lovely dinner out. Loved the Pino Grigio Rose too

Lovely 3 course dinner this evening whilst on holiday at Forest Holidays Garwnant locally. The food was beautifully prepared and the service was very personal and friendly. The pub itself is cosy with a good selection of drinks to accompany the food. We will definitely visit again.

Haven't visited the Red Lion since the middle of lockdown. Won't leave it so long until the next time. Fantastic Sunday lunch. The atmosphere was great. It was toasty warm as the log fire was going strong. We had a great welcome and a nice table. The starters. Pumpkin soup with Creme fraiche and bread and seared Squid with Pumpkin and quite a bit of spice in both were fab. The best bit was the main event. The lamb was cooked rare and was so tender you hardly needed to chew it. The chicken was moist and tasty. The rest of the roast lunch couldn't be faulted. Perfect mash, roasties, veg and cauliflower cheese. A great yorkshire pudding and we had extra gravy. It was delicious!!! I had rice pudding with poached pear and puffed rice for dessert and it was really creamy and flavourful. It was my birthday and we couldn't have picked a better place for lunch.

We came upon the Red Lion completely by chance, having visited the distillery nearby and then doing a Google search for somewhere to eat. We arrived mid-service for Sunday lunch, with no reservation and a large dog in tow. They went out of their way to find a table for us, as long as we didn't mind waiting a little while. And boy, was the food worth waiting for! The starters and puddings on the menu sounded amazing, so we ended up eating a full 3 course Sunday lunch (well, we were on holiday!) which was every bit as good as it looked. We'd heartily recommend the Red Lion if you're in the Penderyn area, and we'll certainly be back if we're ever nearby again!
