Didn’t expect to find Portuguese tapas on our way to Land’s End but super glad we did. Everything was delicious and clearly made with care, and the coffee and cakes were really yummy also. Such a great little unexpected find.

Amazed to find this gem of a restaurant tucked away in the depths of Cornwall. Delicious dishes. The flavours and combinations were a delight. Great family feel to the restaurant and a warm relaxing ambience. Highly recommend for anyone who is lucky enough to find Maria Chica

Little restaurant in the small village of Pendeen. Portuguese tapas plates all done very well. The salted cod and potatoes and pork belly were my highlight but the other dishes - stews - were also good. Polished off with New York style cheesecake. Booking recommended as there are only a few tables.

Friendly service and a great looking Portuguese/ Brazilian inspired menu but we only stopped in for coffee and hot chocolate so cannot comment on the food. Spotlessly clean.

There is a great selection to choose from and each dish is lovely. We usually have 3 each and share a rice, so lots of different things to try all in one meal. Slight wince at the price, but it's a treat, we don't go often, and it is really delicious.

Absolutely delicious food in pleasant surroundings with friendly staff, what more could you want. We had salt cod, calamari, bread, olives, the pork belly and some broad beans and chorizo. Finished off with an almond tart and ice cream. Cracking tapas.

Beautiful meal that was enjoyed by all four of us loved the salted cod and potato dish and the tomato bread and egg dish and the sardine paste on bread was lovely. My husband said the fish stew was beautiful and my eldest loved his calamari the youngest is still talking about how much he loved his first ever olive tapenade. There is a lovely atmosphere and the lady and young man who looked after us were so helpful and friendly. The desserts were also amazing really loved it from start to finish. Fantastic place to eat.

We had a beautiful meal here last night, we were staying locally and happened to stumble across Maria Chica. Such a friendly reception, great service and excellent food. A true gem. We would highly recommend the Pantone butter pudding it was excellent. Thank you so much for a lovely evening. We will definitely return. Jane & Andy

We had some of the best Tapas we have ever had at Maria Chicas in Pendeen today. We had marinated mussels, fish stew, prawn crepes, pork belly and spicy rice and all were great! It's a pity as the cafe was very quiet probably due to the weather as it deserves to be packed.

4 of us visited this evening as we’re staying in Pendeen and thought the menu looked amazing. It did not disappoint, great selection of alcohol and so many different lovely choices of tapas! We had quite a few dishes, all great, such as the brie, meatballs and calamari which were just to die for. Also had a passion fruit cheesecake for dessert which was a huge great slice and completely delicious. Lovely owners and staff, would highly recommend!

Absolutely Delicious! I loved this place. I called to reserve a table for two looking for more of a restaurant, and I was a bit worried the cafe set up wouldn’t cut it for our ‘nice meal out’ Best decision of the whole trip! only a small place (4-5 tables) it was a quiet area but the staff were friendly and engaging, they offered to move us around as a better view became available (we were talking about watching the sun going down). They had a nice little playlist of love songs on and the food and drink could not be nicer, we wiped clean every dish. Set up just a perfect romantic evening for us two. Definitely pop into here at least once if you’re ever in Cornwall area, worth a 20-30min trip out I’d say. Little Gem.
