Six of us dropped in after 3pm and were greeted with a very warm welcome. The menu is extensive and the food was the best pub food any of us have had in a long time. Highly recommended are the steak and ale pie, faggots , fish pie and cottage pie. Great selection of ales too. Shame its so far from home!

It's a 'proper pub', a little tired looking inside but don't let that put you off. The whole family had a really lovely meal and the atmosphere was very friendly. I had a delicious and filling homemade chicken curry with rice and chips and the family had fish cakes and chicken wraps between them. Prices ranged from £11.50 for the wraps to £15.50 for the curry.

Pubs have had some of the best food we have had here in Wales. And the Royal George did not dissapoint at all. Typical pub atmosphere with locals coming in for a pint, folks joking with others... but the food. It was something special. My wife thought the stroganoff was about the best she has had, my son polished off the curry and wanted more. I had the burger... it was great. It wasn't just a frozen burger thrown on the grill... it was fresh and wonderful. Sticky toffee pudding was absolutely incredible. My son said it was the best he has ever had, my wife and I both agreed the custard was by far the best, and the pudding was a very slight second place... in any case, an absolute winner. I only got one picture. It smelled so good that the family was well into eating before I could even get the camera out. Would definitely return!!!

A very friendly traditional pub where we were made very welcome. The bar staff were great and the locals friendly, even the dog was made a fuss of. Great place to watch the Rugby too. Didn't get to eat there but food being served around us looked great. All in all a great experience, especially for my partner who had left the area 50 years ago. We'll definitely visit again when we're next in the area!

Friendly pub, amazing food. We popped in for some lunch not knowing what to expect and we are so glad we did. Amazing menu with lots of tasty choices, we all had something different and all four of us really enjoyed it. Would definitely return if we are ever in the area again!

Fantastic meal. The guy behind the bar was really nice and helpful (didn't get a name) and the food was amazing. Good portion sizes and fairly priced. I had the soup of the day and mushroom stroganoff (both amazing) and my friend had the burger.

We thoroughly enjoyed our sausages and mash with lots of absolutely delicious onion gravy, this was followed by a big dish of the very best fruit crumble with custard we have ever tasted. A very well stocked bar and we found all the staff to be very welcoming and the service was exceptionally good, we will definitely go back for another meal the next time we are in Pembroke. Highly recommended a little gem not to be missed.

Lovely pub a short walk from Pembroke Castle and the Castle and Mill Pond Walks. Friendly welcome, good choice of beers, ciders and spirits, extensive food menu. Opted for local pork and leek sausages which were excellent in a super rich onion gravy. Highly recommend.

The George pub in Pembroke is a local favourite and for a good reason! The beer garden offers stunning views of Pembroke Castle and Mill Pond – the perfect spot to relax with friends. The staff is friendly, and they have a great selection of local beers. The food is delicious too, with classic pub dishes done right. If you're in Pembroke, don't miss out on this gem!

Historic, welcoming, homely. I had a light bite lunch and pot of tea for midday lunch, served well. Being next to a magnificent castle, waiting to be discovered, surrounded by tidal seawater, interesting and lovely to be there.

We visited this pub last week for lunch. Lovely location - really close to Pembroke Castle and Mill Pond. The highlight for me, dare I say, was their chicken curry. Most delicious of any curries I’ve eaten at a pub/restaurant in a while! I was pleasantly surprised. Just the right blend of flavours, not super spicy, simply divine. We also tried their chilli con carne and fish cakes which were just as delightful. They had a good selection of beers, service was quick and the staff was lovely. Can’t fault them for anything, really :) The pub is also dog-friendly, which was a huge plus and the main reason we initially selected it for lunch as we were travelling with our dog. The lovely man by the bar fussed over our dog and also gave him some dog treats that were gladly received. All in all, I’d highly recommend Royal George if you’re in Pembroke.
