The best sourdough baker in the Borders and surrounding areas (IMO and judging by the queue that’s usually at the door). He’s only open 3 days a week so I buy several loaves and put them in the freezer. Cakes and pastries are delicious - I’ve never bought anything from the Fat Batard that I haven’t
Went for the first time and was so impressed! The foccahia is amazing! Tried the baguette and seeded sourdough bread - just divine, real authentic and healthy bread. The millionaire shortbread was beyond expectations! Brilliant wee bakery 🍞❤️.
Fine artisan and craft bakers, off main street. Delightful young lady in charge, enjoyed the banter as well as the products.
Sadly no whisky cake, but still five stars.
(Not the one star I threatened jokingly). Worth seeking out.
Phenomenal. This bakery could also flourish in a more culinary centric city; it's that good. We are lucky to have them in Peebles.
Thank goodness they're only open a few days a week or I'd be several stone heavier.
Gorgeous sourdough bread and cakes, with friendly helpful staff. Recently found out that the Fat Batard also supports the local food bank, which is fantastic! A great community bakery.
Worth the queue. The croissants are excellent as was the lemon meringue pie. Really delicious.
Pure quality. From the breads through to the sweet treats every single item looks absolutely amazing and tastes every bit as good as it looks. The time and effort put into every product really shows and there are always new things to tempt us. This place is a real wee gem!
Great bakery. On hols from far away, made the effort to queue outside and buy a small selection. So good that I returned !!
