A real gem of a find. Next to the Tissington Trail it is easily accessed on foot, by car or on bicycle and the carpark is large. There are tables and chairs outside and also some picnic benches a little way further along the trail where you can sit and enjoy your refreshments. The choice of drinks and snacks/light meals is good and reasonably priced. We had sandwiches and coffees - tasty, fresh bread with plenty of filling the sandwiches were great and the coffees (espresso, long black and lattes) were also good. If you fancy something sweet, there is a choice of baked tarts and cakes and also ice creams, dog ice-cream too! The kiosk building is also home to public toilets which are well-used, but super clean and in good working order with plenty of toilet paper (in the ladies.) The business owner was friendly and chatted as he prepared our sandwiches. He obviously cares about his business and customers. Just a really nice place to stop on our return cycle ride from Ashbourne. Would recommend it to anyone looking for a drink and a sit-down when in the area. Fabulous!

Only bought 2 coffees but what a genuinely nice gent who served us. Pleasantly engaging, took time to converse and with a nice dry sense of humour.

I agree with others, the plum tart with ice cream was special. Add to this the apple and rhubarb tart. We also got helpful route guidance which saved a few miles on the A52.

READ FULL REVIEW, THANKS The first year, We had been riding for around 30 minutes, my legs were tired and I needed rest. I spotted the building in the distance "could it be"? I shouted angrily to myself, yes a cafe. Still the second year in a row, The man who works there is nothing short of an absolute legend, toast, toast toast and more toast we ordered each time, piling our orders in, the f's rising - but alas the toast and ice cream hit hard after a long ride. *You could buy a toastie for all the toast you've been buying" he advised us - with the butter still round my mouth I merely laughed and ordered more, foolish of him to think we were finished there. On our last day, I asked for the recipe, I was prepared to drink the blood of my enemies to obtain it. He smiled and whispered a few words in my ear so the fellow riders were none the wiser. I will now carry the recipe with me until I reach the gates of heaven and only share with those I trust deeply. Thankyou for your service sir,

Wee kiosk next to car park and disused railway now enjoyed by many cyclists and walkers. The ice cream was great. Please pop by, it is well worthy.

Basic kiosk serving a range of take away food and drinks. Drinks included bean to cup coffees, latte etc. Snacks included cake, plum tart etc. Range of ice creams. Clean, quick take away service. A number of tables and seats near the kiosk for you to enjoy the drinks and food and have a rest if cycling the Tissington Trail. Also near Tissington village.

Don’t be fooled, this is not your average snack kiosk. We stumbled across this place a few weeks ago, and whilst it’s true that this bean-to-cup oasis on a gravel trail serves a variety of terrific snacks and drinks (and yes, it’s all true about the plum tart) there is so much more available. Firstly, there’s Andy the all-singing, all-dancing café aficionado, capable of directions, the latest local gossip, discussion of world events (but for your own sanity avoid Justin Trudeau, or lorry drivers), good humour and so much more. So, you can stuff your face, discuss world events or even discover the delights of kitchen design (again, examine your sanity before proceeding). I can't think what more one could ask for, really.

Unscheduled stop at this little cafe, immediately seduced by the Plum Tart Promise. A totally fantabulous-to-die-for plum tart, not to miss. Served with a generous helping of very welcome good humour. Much appreciated. Thank you for the colourful addition to my day.

A very nice place for a cup of coffee and something sweet or warm to eat. You can sit down, there are stands for bicycles, there is a toilet and it's all "on the road". I recommend! :)
