Had a lovely Sunday lunch at The Eyre Arms. There was plenty of choice on the menu and the Sunday lunch was lovely, the portion size was great and came out piping hot (Yorkshire Puddings were delicious!!!) The staff were very polite and service was great. The bar area is very well presented and dogs are welcome too with the added bonus of treats in a jar in the bar for them, it's the little touches that makes the place very welcoming I will definitely be returning and would highly recommend
My partner, his daughter and I popped in for lunch this afternoon. I had the roast pork, my partner had the Sunday best. All of which was so delicious! Crackling too.. yum! His daughter (7) asked if she could have something other than roast. The lady who took our order customised a great meal for her, even though it wasn’t on the menu. Thank you! Pub has a lovely ambience and was busy during our time there. It didn’t stop staff checking on us and making sure we were happy throughout our meal. We had the choc fudge cake for dessert.. fab! Highly recommend!!
I had my son’s baptism party in the function room yesterday. It is such a great space and after using the Eyre Arms for my daughter’s baptism party 3 yrs ago we decided to come back. There has been a change in ownership but Tim was so helpful and friendly. He went out of his way to accommodate what we wanted and was always on hand on the day to help in anyway he could. The buffet they laid on was excellent and everyone commented how good the service was.
The kids has room to play at the back too. I thoroughly recommend The Eyre Arms as a venue.
Excellent hosting venue ! We held our sons christening here and couldn’t of chosen a Better place! the function room is huge and very versatile , with its own private bar Tim and Jim let us decorate how we wanted and couldn’t have been more helpful - these two are top guys and go out there way to make you feel welcome and cared for !
Thank you very much to the both of you!!!
We’ll be back !!

Not been in a while since it closed a while ago. Now re-opened & while not an extensive menu, I'd rather places did fewer things well rather than try to do too much. I had the classic burger & chips & it was tasty, hot & reasonably priced. Staff friendly & helpful. They're also starting to do breakfasts up until 12, so I will be trying that out as well.
We came to The Eyre Arms today for Mother’s Day lunch, on arrival the First Lady that served me behind the bar made me laugh straight away she was lovely, we arrived earlier than the time we booked so we decided to sit and have a drink in the bar. Just sat down and another member of staff gave me and my mother in law a glass of prosecco each and wished us both a happy Mother’s Day we was told our table was ready and we could go to it when we was ready, was not made to feel rushed which was nice we ordered our food when it came it was lush every one of our party of five ordered something different and each meal was as perfect as the next! I would really recommend coming here I had a perfect Mother’s Day. Well done and thank you to all the staff XX we will see you soon
Used it for a motor home stopover , lovely food and a friendly welcome , would recommend a visit
Brilliant place... Fab food and friendly service xx.. If you are in the area, you must visit
Lovely staff, nice decor, large function room with great beer at good prices.
Just had a Sunday dinner, huge and gorgeous, deserves more than 5* highly recommend
Very pleasant overnight stay in late May 2023 in our campervan on our way to Scotland. Had a meal which was reasonably priced and very nice. Dedicated parking area for campervans and small motorhomes among the pens for the sheep and goats. Very friendly staff and locals and would be recommend to anyone. Padley Gorge is a great place to walk and nearby.
Couldn't recommend the Eyre Arms Highly enough for a number of reasons.
1.The food is yummy, hot and reasonably priced.
2. You can park up overnight for free and use the facilities if you pop in for a bite.
3. Staff are especially nice and accommodating.
4. The surroundings are just lovely (can't wait to visit in summer time to enjoy the large beer garden).
5. There's even some Rheas in the next garden. 😍
6. There's plenty of hikes, days out and things to do very near by. We spent the following day in the quaint town of Bakewell.
7. Even the locals are lovely. We had several charming conversations.
8. Very baby friendly.
We'll definitely be back. 😀
Stayed overnight in their car park. Upon arrival a cycle race meeting was taking place and the kitchens had just finished. Fortunately the staff were able to direct us to where we could eat,the derwentwater Inn. Very peaceful nights sleep despite being located so close to a major crossroads. The next day we went off cycling before returning to the van and then calling in for a meal. The landlord saw us coming and informed us that the kitchen had just closed between lunch and dinner. To his great credit he offered to cook us something to eat. Over our meal he informed us that the pub had been sold and was closing down in four weeks time. Another little gem gone.
If you get a chance to visit in these coming weeks go for it,the kindness of all the staff is remarkable. Good luck in your next farming venture.
Lovely venue, good food and a wide selection of drinks. I was served by Shaz and another lady who both offered exceptional service. I would definitely recommend a visit! 😊
Visited on Tuesday night and pleasantly surprised.
Food was really enjoyable, staff were very friendly, we were even allowed to bring our own cake to enable us to celebrate our sons birthday.
There was 9 in our party and the food came out really quick and very enjoyable.
If in the area thoroughly recommend going.
Thank you
Service was great, whole place has been recently refurbished as a sports cross country pub, open fire, dogs allowed in one half, uncarpeted side, nice stone flags roaring fire, sports on TVs darts board and was talk of a pool table being added, nice place well worth calling in at.
Stayed in their car park at the weekend with friends. Had drinks in the pub in the evening. They couldn't have been more accommodating. Adhered carefully to social distancing rules. The waitress was very busy but friendly and helpful. They sold chicken and duck eggs which we bought. A young man went in the garden and collected them for us. Fresh as... cooked next morning 😋. Would definitely return.
Great place to eat after a nice walk in the Peak District. The staff is brilliant and very politeand helpful. Dog friendly pub, with great starters, burgers and steaks. Plenty of parking and outdoor seating with great views of the Hope Valley.
Happy place to be, child friendly, dog friendly. Excellent food and service. The staff are always smiling and the hosts are great. Lots of parking even for campervans. Lots of lovely scenery and walks nearby.
The food was lovely, nice atmosphere.. not too busy so a nice quiet meal! Shaz on bar was amazing. Catered to our needs perfectly and was very polite with a smile on her face every minute that went by. Would definitely recommend and come again sometime.
The guys at the Eyre Arms have been really helpful and accommodating, we hosted two events here midweek and they were really happy to serve us and allow us to set up on the front.
The food was fantastic!
Eyre arms never fails, we have been here a few times now and it never disappoints. Never had a bad meal and the staff are so friendly. Definitely worth making the trip! Also I didn't have the salad but as the lady was walking past it looked lush! Also the toilets are always clean and smell nice.
Lovely welcome from friendly staff and locals. We stayed overnight in our motorhome after a good meal made from locally sourced produce (and of course a couple of drinks) all very reasonably priced and would definitely recommend. 10/10 👍
Beautiful friendly pub. Good food and drink, reasonable price. Spent the evening chatting to the landlord who was lovely and made us feel very welcome he gave us lots of info about the area .Small farm at the back by the beer garden. A must if you are in the area. We will be visiting again.
