Reviews The Barley Mow

We visited the Barley Mow for the first time yesterday after an event at Silverstone. I spent over an hour earlier in the week reading websites on all the local pubs/restaurants and none of them felt quite right, they were all either too expensive, didn't cater properly for unusual diets, didn't have a children's menu, were more interested in Sky Sports than a cosy atmosphere, etc! As soon as I looked at the Barley Mow website I knew it was the right place for us and they didn't disappoint! We were a party of 5, including a fussy 8-yr old and my mother in law who has a lot of dietary requirements. The restaurant is delightful, cosy, rustic, clean, spacious and the food was absolutely delicious. Once the staff discovered my mother in law was gluten intolerant they really looked after her and adjusted all aspects of her meal so she could eat everything, she was very impressed as she rarely finds great service like this. The staff were all very friendly and very helpful and created a lovely atmosphere. We were very impressed and really enjoyed our visit - we can't recommend this venue highly enough!

Been coming here for some time and have never had a bad experience. Food is always top notch and the service is fantastic. Come here for another meal tonight where we had two mixed grills and fish + chips. Food was amazing as always.

Love the Barley Mow Paulerspury, we often eat here and the food is consistently very very good. The Sunday roasts and Mixed Grill are outstanding. Be warned, if you order the the crumble make sure you order a side of ice cream with it. It’s served at the same temperature as the sun! Chris, Steph and the team are so welcoming as well. If you haven’t visited the Barley Mow, make sure you do, you won’t be disappointed. Keep your eyes open for random pennies as well!!!

Cannot recommend this pub enough. Tiny, but mighty. I had three courses, my wife and son had two. We all left satisfied. Every mouthful was mouth wateringly good. Since our visit my wife cannot stop thinking about the soup and it's the soft spongey cake with custard I can't get out of my head. Definitely check it out.

Had a lovely evening with family, lovely food, lovely Christmas atmosphere and welcoming staff. The fire was blazing and the pub busy which added to the feel of the Barley Mow. Would definitely recommend a visit.

We had a great evening in this charming pub which has recently had a makeover, the bar staff just could n’t do enough for us. In the end we gave in to the temptation to eat there as well which was absolutely amazing. Do visit this lovely little local.

This pub was a pleasure to dine at, it's very well kept and there are a few bar games to play, a rare thing to see these days. We sat in the restaurant area which was modern, but at the same time kept the character of the pub itself. GF menu was available and there were no problems with the food, so well done to the chef!! A very good visit, well worth a visit even just for a drink 😉 we will go again and no doubt enjoy it. Well done to the staff!!!

We dropped into the Barley Mow as we were passing through the area and are really pleased that we did. My wife and me were greeted warmly both by friendly bar staff and locals and were made to feel very welcome. We had chosen this pub as it was dog friendly and this proved very true with the offer of free dog treats, etc. A good range of gins and some nice, well kept ales in a really quant, old, multi-roomed pub with a roaring fire, beams, etc. Really cosy and atmospheric. The food we ordered was superb. My wife had the seafood risotto and I had the Sunday roast (pork loin). Both meals were delicious and plentiful. Again, pleasant, attentive and efficient service. Needless to say, we thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of our visit and, should the opportunity arise, we would be back like a shot!

A beautiful old public house, decorated superbly to highlight original features. They even have a wooden version of table skittles in the bar along with other bar games. The staff&locals are really friendly&it has a very welcoming atmosphere. The food is all cooked fresh&locally sourced&is well presented&delicious, but there always seems to be a long wait for your food, probably because everythings cooked fresh? They even have homemade bread, cakes, preserves for sale,I recommend the large slab of homemade bread pudding it was yummy! Well worth a visit for a special occasion, or if your not in a hurry! I will defo be visiting there again when we're next in the area.
