Wonderful family run tea room / cafe set in a beautiful setting, with lovely gardens & outside seating overlooking the woods and countryside around Compton Castle. The cakes and drinks were perfect on our visit, the people serving were friendly & welcoming and the interior was a traditional English
If you want superb home cooked food in a family, homely atmosphere then this is 100% recommended. Been going here for about 30 years. Food 5* home cooked and their deserts are to die forπŸ˜‹.
Delightful afternoon at Castle Barton Restaurant. A quirky 'grandma's dining room' vibe and delicious food at a very reasonable price. Will be heading back there very shortly to enjoy another chocolate roulade with real clotted cream, though the brie & tomato brushetta and game pie were just as good
This is an interesting and forgotten place. Quite near the main roads of Torquay. I really enjoyed the countryside around here and the castle which has link's to sir Walter Raleigh. I did not go into the castle as was outside opening hours. Castle is still resided by a family. Unbelievable this is s
Enjoyed an absolutely delicious Devon cream tea here on a rainy afternoon (would have been lovely to sit out in the garden on a sunny day). Good, friendly service too. This place is perfect for refreshments or something more substantial if you're visiting the NT's Compton Castle, which is just over
Great find. Really lovely family run restaurant. Set in beautiful surroundings. Outside and inside seating available. Bit of a climb up steps and a slope to get to it but well worth it when you see the beautiful listed building. There is also a holiday home attached to the restaurant. Sit and enjoy
