What a lovely place this is the staff were so helpful I only asked if something on the menu was vegan and the next thing the chef had very kindly made me a very yummy vegan curry. Thank you
What an amazing overall experience. The staff are so friendly and helpful nothing is too much trouble. The place is so charming. Beautiful large rooms. Spotlessly clean and spacious. Gorgeous food in a modern restaurant with plenty to choose from. Vast beverage choices in the busy, vibrant bar and the breakfast was to die for served in the beautiful designated area. There's also a conservatory serving fresh coffees and pastries and a beauty salon. The cherry on the cake has to be its location, right on the harbour, with ample parking just across the road. If you're looking for the perfect place to stay in Padstow this is definitely the place to be. Thankyou to Ellie and her amazing team for making our holiday a memorable one. Jo and Rob. X
We walked in on a Sunday night without any reservation, and what a great decision! Lovely space inside, very friendly staff, great options on the menu and all the food was hot and delicious, we all enjoyed our meals. Must add that the brownie with banana ice cream was divine! One point was lost because when we walked in, one member of staff told us that the kitchen would close at 8 pm (10 minutes to choose!). So we chose quickly only to be informed afterward by another member of staff that the kitchen would only close at 9pm... so much stress for nothing. Also, there was no soap on the bathroom. 😕
Stopped for dinner and the food was excellent. The seafood was delicious and you could really taste the freshness. The burger was great too and the toppings really complimented the beef. Staff were very friendly with a good selection of drinks available as well.
I dropped in here for lunch. It was simply wonderful. Staff were very friendly and welcoming. We had venison sausage and mash with gravy. A dessert of sticky toffee pudding with banana ice cream. Every mouthful of our food was flavoursome and hearty. The local ales were so nice, we had a 'proper job' and a 'Tribute'. Really happy we dropped in. Highly recommended.

I booked a table for four at this local hotel/restaurant for a birthday celebration with friends. I have to say that I was a little concerned that booking was so easy and even available on the day.
On arrival we had a drink in the lovely bar and we had a choice of dining in here or in the restaurant next door. We chose the restaurant and we were seated by the window with beautiful views over the harbour. There was a good choice of meals on the menu and I chose the squid for starters and the trio of fish for my main course. The best squid I have ever had. It was so succulent and tender. Two of our party had the fish (hake) and chips whilst my wife had the mussels. The best mussels my wife has had (served with bread and chips) and the best fish and chips our friends had eaten. My trio of fish was delicious too. The sauces with the mussels, and also with my fish was superb, with the excellent waiter providing a spoon without being asked.
Sticky toffee pudding and cheesecake for the desserts which were excellent.
In summary:
The restaurant and location were 5 star.
The food was absolutely fantastic.
The service was faultless and a credit to the restaurant.
I really don't know why this restaurant was not jam packed with a waiting list for a table. The prices were a fraction higher but the food was well worth it.
Thank you all.
Went to this lovely pub on my first night in Padstow and thought it was a lovely pub dog friendly which is a plus if you have pets! Food cooked fresh and a Bit of a wait.
We ordered the burger and chicken with creamy garlic sauce only lost one star because the chicken was so dry! And also it’s a little over priced for what it is.. even fish and chips was £15 on the menu…
Overall apart from that it’s a lovely pub nothing bad about it would recommend and a large selection of drinks :)
We booked a table on line for our evening meal… 2 adults and 7 year old and our dog. We were placed at a window seat looking out into the harbour… idyllic and a great spot for me to people watch and watch the world go by. This was the third time eating here over the years but was by far the best. We had 2 courses, main and dessert and honestly the food was stein’s worthy. My husband and I had the trio of fish with buttered potatoes and my daughter had the kids pasta…. The plates could have gone back in the cupboard… not a crumb to be seen. For dessert my husband had the sticky toffee pudding and I had the lemon posset… again both were delicious … the staff were tentative to our needs and our meal here was easily one of our best nights. Thank you all for making our evening a lovely one.
I'm a bit biased as The Custom House in Padstow is a family favourite. We've tried other pubs here but none match up to the Custom House. Good beers (especially Hicks) decent food and always a friendly welcome.
We return to the Old Custom House every time we are in Padstow. We are never disappointed. The Sunday lunch food and service on was as ever excellent. Ayers for vegetarian and meat eaters alike. I am sure we will return.
Stayed for 2 nights. Breakfast was amazing and the staff were nothing but fantastic. From the minute we were greeted at reception to the minute we left, we were made to feel so welcome. Great value for money and fantastic views over the harbour. We shall be returning. Well done Ellie and team.
Lovely, comfortable place to stay. We didn't have an evening meal there however our breakfast was delicious! Warm welcome and room with a view of the harbour, great stay.
I cannot comment on the accommodation but the restaurant experience was wonderful, Irish John and staff you were amazing thank you so much for making my Wife's Birthday meal so memorable.
I absolutely recommend this location,superb.
Booked ahead and got a lovely table in the building adjoining the main bar area. Really fancied fish and chips. Having read such poor reviews for all the ‘chippies’ in town, the fish and chip meal here was lovely.
I felt very welcome upon arrival, although my booking was difficult to find, there is a battle for parking, you can stay in the carpark overnight for £8. The pub is lively and friendly, the food was good although it was a long time coming. I enjoyed my breakfast while looking out onto the quay, friendly staff.
We had a very enjoyable evening. Lovely food and drinks,The Old Custom House never lets you down.😎
