Was very excited to eat at Rick Stein's restaurant, it didn't disappoint. Had the seafood platter for two and it was perfectly fresh and delicious, also very large so come hungry. The service was excellent.

The plan to eat at Rick Stein’s most famous and prestigious restaurant, in the place where his empire was born, Padstow in Cornwall, began with my birthday. Nicola and Rachael gave me a lovely card, a print of a view of Padstow harbour, and promised me a trip there to eat at The Seafood Restaurant. The fact that my birthday is in April and it took us six months to get here isn’t important – a special and good thing is always worth waiting for. And of course one can’t spend 5 or so hours driving across the country for one meal, however good it is, so the meal turned into a weekend away.

We have eaten here many times previously but this was by far the best experience we’ve had… Food was outstanding, excellent choices with high quality wines to accompany food. Service was to the highest standard with our waitress Eleanor just amazing (only been at the restaurant for 4 weeks!!). Thank you..

The freshest of fish is the star and the point of the show. Why go for anything else! Classically cooked, not messed around with beyond what’s needed to point up the flavours of the fish. Three great courses, not one a miss, lovely service, and ambiance.

Amazing food, lovely staff and beautiful setting. Enjoyed the Tempura Soft Shell Crab for Starter, Roast Monkfish for Main and Affagato and the Peanut Butter & Banana Cheesecake for Dessert 🍽️ we really enjoyed a glass each of the Chenin Blanc Secateurs (large was around £15). It’s an extensive wine list, but I recommend that for a white wine.

Extensive menu, lovely wine selection. Really lovely meal in lovely surroundings and very well run. All staff were on the ball. Delicious food. Is on the dearer side, but worth it for a treat.

Had one, of many, of my 50th birthday celebrations in this lovely restaurant. We had 3 different starters. The sashimi, the tuna tartare and the souffle. All were fabulous! Then Hake, monkfish curry and the squid ink risotto. With softshell crab & heirloom tomato salad chasers! All absolutely lovely. Great wine too. And a complimentary glass of champagne when we first sat down. Absolitely stuffed when we left, luckily we were staying at St Edmunds House just behind the restaurant, so not far to walk. Can't recommend enough.

The food was delicious, the portions are just right and the presentation is lovely. I would eat the halloumi starter every day if I could, it is delicious and light and so tasty! The seafood stew was also a well thought out, beautifully balanced dish.

Had such a great meal followed by an overnight stay with breakfast. Nothing is ever too much trouble. The room was the comfy room with plenty of space and such relaxing decor. Loved it and would recommend everyone to try it.

Simply first class, excellent service lovely atmosphere, but more importantly, the food was cooked to perfection and presented beautifully. We had a great meal and time here, Rick Stein is still delivering a great product at his original restaurant.

We ate here a for lunch, a few days ago, and the food was lovely and the staff were very attentive. The only negative was that whilst we understood it to be a 3 course lunch special, we had checked with their customer service team and they did tell us (twice in fact), that we would have a choice of three dishes from each course - it turned out there was no choice and because of that we would likely have gone elsewhere. Having said that, whilst we might have chosen different meals, had we had a choice, the food was absolutely lovely !

I can’t recommend a meal here enough. The food is excellent and ‘good’ portions, the atmosphere is great - very relaxed but appropriate and the staff are excellent- friendly & attentive but not overly so, and able to make recommendations based on experience. Rick is a bit of a hero of mine and his flagship restaurant does not disappoint.

8 of us went to Rick Steins for lunch. It was absolutely fantastic. Food excellent, staff knowledgeable and friendly. The restaurant is spacious and clean. I had the cheese souffle, fish curry and a fantastic chocolate pudding to die for. All washed down with good wine and a drop of water. The bill was a pleasant surprise bearing in the the name & location £100 pp. Gold stars all round.

From arrival to departure, the staff looked after us well. Zoe and Poppy were helpful and knowledgeable about the food and wine, which was really helpful in our decision making. The main man was in the kitchen, "cheffing" away and our table overlooked the prep area, through the doorway so we could keep an eye on him! As you'd expect, the food was exceptional and served in a timely manner. We had champagne as an appetiser, scallops as a starter (grilled and sushi sed) with poached trout as a main. All wonderfully prepared. The sauvignon blanc went down a treat too....! Finishing off the meal with a Rum Baba and a profiterole, the kitchen staff also produced a personal message for my wife that was unexpected.

Went for a friends birthday was not dissapointed . Each course was beautifully presented. I thought the scallops could have been removed from the shells before cooking though and then added back in, as it was difficult to detach them without ripping them apart. I had the lobster which I enjoyed. The staff were attentive .the ambience good. The toilets well appointed. Will return

Dined here for a celebratory dinner. Welcoming friendly team. Delicious food, we had a selection including fish stew and fish curry dishes. Reason overall rating was a 4 was because not all desserts arrived at same time. Given two out of three were cold (one plain ice-cream which needed to be eaten as stated to melt) not sure why this was not possible at this premium restaurant. Nevertheless, we enjoyed a lovely family evening here.

Omg! Now this is hands down the best restaurant in Cornwall. We had such a nice experience. You have to book in advance as a warning. We booked a month in advance and the only availability was 10pm - luckily they called us a week before to say there was a 9pm slot. The service was friendly and excellent. The drinks were good. The food is the real game changer though. My fish and chips were the best I’ve ever had. The whole ambiance of the place is nice too. Certainly worth a visit if in Cornwall

This would be our 5th visit to the restaurant and we have never been let down. The staff go above and beyond, the drinks are lovely and the food is amazing! This time we had scallops, fish and chips and Indonesian seafood curry and it was all delicious and well worth the money! It was also mine and my wife’s anniversary and they created a nice little desert dish for us. Will definitely be returning again!
