We had dinner there last night after a long hard week at work. Being able to relax and let someone cook for us was just what we needed! It was so refreshing to have a delicious meal prepared properly by decent chef, instead of the usual "chain" pub/food outlets with the same old same old menus cooked in a microwave.
The Lamb Inn is local to us but it was our first visit. The atmosphere when we walked in was warm with the bustle of people chatting and laughing over their drinks. The staff were very friendly yet professional, attentive without being intrusive and the food was amazing! The restaurant was cozy and very clean with a feeling of home, the tablecloths and clean linen napkins just made it a cut above. You can tell the staff care. It felt all the better for supporting a local private business too. Support local! We will definitely be back, and a plus, we were given a voucher for a discount next time, fantastic incentive and show of appreciation of our custom. Well done The Lamb Inn!
Sunday Lunch was absolutely delicious. This is such a lovely place with great staff who were there if you needed them, but not overbearing.
I had the pork belly which was cooked perfectly and fell apart. The veg and all the trimmings were really tasty and cooked how I like them.
This is the best roast I've had in a pub - EVER!!
I will definitely be back soon to try more of the menu.
Phil is such a nice man.. Nothing is too much trouble. I had lamb with home made mint sauce (with mint from the garden). There are a lot of home made elements which are such a nice touch to each meal. I wish the owners every success.
The food was absolutely stunning and definitely worth a visit. Next time we go up to this area, we will surely be going here again for food. A child area with some amazing things for a child to play on, in, etc, to keep them happy. Lovely food, amazing tasting delicious and highly recommended.
Phil is a perfect host and chef Nathan is a maestro of the culinary arts. A visit here is a must to experience a transcendent British gastropub. Local brews and produce celebrated with reverence and passion. Keep up the great work team Lamb!
Had a wonderful and exciting dinner here with a close friend . The menu is small and perfectly formed.
I had delicious scollops with Miso and salad, followed by the most delicious chicken Kiev that was a perfect sphere stuffed with mushrooms and garlic.
The wine list is extensive, pairing of individual puddings to different dessert wines is a great idea and very affordable as the glass size is small but just what you need to go with a pud .
Well worth a visit
Absolutely amazing Sunday roast, cooked to perfection, beautiful flavours. Friendly staffed. Loved the fact there was fenced garden where our dog could play freely. Will be back. Thank you!
We found this place by chance as we were looking for somewhere to eat when driving home. Such a classy pub! The food was a proper fine dining experience. The asparagus soup with crispy egg, was the tastiest soup I've ever eaten. Their local gin, Cotswolds, was also fantastic. The only thing that wasn't amazing was the whitebait starter, as it was so salty that it was hard to eat. However, this didn't dampen our experience and we'll definitely stop in again next time we're driving back that way. Lovely decor and very clean establishment. Also very friendly and polite staff. Highly recommend.
A wonderful experience for our family. Phil was an amazing host who made great recommendations on the food and answered all of our questions with a smile. Highly recommended.
We stopped here for lunch whilst traveling across the country and we were not disappointed. The menu is small because everything is cooked with care and attention and from scratch, with many menu items containing produce from the herb and veg garden (pictured below). If I was to give a suggestion, it would be for one more vegi friendly option on the main meals section, and the addition a salad garnish for the burgers would have been nice, but overall we had a lovely meal.
We went there last Friday and it is a very cosy setting. The food was amazing and the waitress was charming and very funny. We had a great night!
Tried the Sunday roast here and was very impressed with the food and service. Will definitely return.
Four of us indulged in three courses each. We sat in the bar area which allows dogs. The atmosphere was lovely and right by a log fireplace.
The food was fresh, well cooked and very well presented, the starters were beautiful. We enjoyed the variety and depth of flavours. The desserts were also excellent and two of us specifically said the sticky toffee pudding and for me the crème brulé were the best we have ever had.
Good attentive service and not a long wait for food, so absolutely no complaints.
Even the price, given the quality of food, £20 for a main course (Sunday roast), feels reasonable. An overall positive experience.
Now excuse me while I go into a happy food coma.
Found this pub during a walk and popped in for some refreshment. A pint of local beer and cider with a lite snack of caramelised chicken pate on toast with plums and a side of chips was greatly appreciated along with fresh filtered water for our four legged walking companion. Service was excellent. Well worth a visit if in the area. Didn't rate the rooms as did not stay.
Fabulous public house in a great rural village setting in Buckland . Great presentation and Fabulous food . Honestly the best Sunday lunch we have ever had 😋 Highly recommended 👌
Truly delicious rump steak and lamb dishes, great wines and service, lovely location and good outdoor play for kids. Plenty of parking.
Now run by Phil and Nathan, we enjoyed a really superb Sunday lunch with friends. Food was cooked to perfection, the service was very good, the wine sensibly priced and the atmosphere was really friendly .
