If I was reviewing just the coffee then definitely 5 stars! The coffee was extremely flavourful and silky, definitely recommend. The were staff very friendly too.
The food however was a slightly underwhelming. I read grilled sourdough sandwiches and expected some thick homemade bread with fresh fil
Popped in here on a summer's morning after a stroll around Christchurch Meadow as it was the only place open at that time, and I'm glad I did. Delicious coffee at a very reasonable price, and a pleasant, studious atmosphere (I presume it must be a favourite among local academicals?) make this the id
Lovely little cafe right in front of the Christ Church meadows. Very nice grilled sandwiches, good coffee and here you can also get the delicious brownies from Bearfoot. We come here regularly since it opened, it's a fixture on our weekends.
Lovely coffee and grilled sandwiches! Nice staff and lovely seating especially if you need to work at the same time! Outside space too :)
Lovely little cafe that does good coffees and tea, nice sandwiches and cakes. Really nice view
We had a great experience: friendly staff, great hot drinks and a relaxed atmosphere with enough space to sit down and relax.
Lovely little cafe! There’s quite a bit of seating which is nice, and the staff are all very friendly. I ordered an oat cappuccino and it was one of the best coffees I’ve tasted - also remarked by my friend! Would definitely recommend.
Tourist prices, centre of Oxford good cafe though
Pretty good decaf but the real treat is the espresso. The brownies are nice and varied, definitely a good cup here.
Clean & different & they love Audrey Hepburn ? Coffee excellent … and food delicious 😋
My favourite café in Oxford :) shame about cafe loco but now I go to this little spot on a near daily basis. Just a quick note, they're closed for festive season until the 5th of January 2022.
Great products, the apricot pastry and the victorian lemonade were amazing and the price was fair. And the staff is amazing too, they kept our luggage the whole day and didn't want a penny for such a big favour. They are very big hearted people and the incredible thing is that it seems absolutely na
A nice corner to stay in and coffee is good (I like the mild taste). The seating is good, normally are full of respectful people so it's an enjoyable quiet atmosphere, but sometimes can be loud whenever a group is in.
Positioned in a great location in the centre of Oxford, The Independent Cafe has a lovely inviting feel and simple, elegant decor. The staff are friendly and welcoming, and most of all, the coffee is amazing. If you're hungry there is the usual array of pastries as well as a range of tasty sourdough
Beyond expectations - is it wheelchair friendly ( very rare in oxford :) ) The drinks come in these aesthetically pleasing cups. The food we tried was consistently good and worth what we paid for. However the coffee itself is not great at all. Cannot wait to come here more often for the atmosphere
