We recently arranged a wake for a family member at The Ampleforth. It was a perfect venue for us. Bright, open rooms and there was so much food all freshly made. The staff were professional and attentive. I would definitely recommend this pub to everyone for all occasions.
We recently held my brother's wake at the Ampleforth. Right from booking I knew we were in safe hands. They made the process very easy, allowed us access to personalise the rooms and provided a good spread. Family and friends had a relaxed afternoon in lovely surroundings. Thanks to all the staff.

Now community owned. Lovely warm fire. Friendly staff and there is a good selection of drinks. Shows football too. Although smaller (cosier) it is a big improvement in appearance and ambience from the previous pub.
