Went on a Sunday evening. Lovely pub and live music, the Djangos smokehouse roast dinner with short rib was lovely. Tender and flavorful, perfectly complemented by greens & gravy which tied everything together. I highly recommend to anyone seeking a top-notch meal at a beautiful location.
We moored our boat right outside. We had lunch and a good few drinks. A bit on the top side on price but well worth the visit. Then the folk music started. Wow well impressed. Improvisation at its best. Such a great night. All so friendly. Even the parrot and tortoise had a great time.
I was looking for somewhere to have lunch that
1-Was Dog Friendly
2-Had a good vegan menu
3-Had suitable non vegan options
4-Was in an impressive location
The Isis Farmhouse delivered on all 4 of these points.
If you haven't been before and you're sitting outside and watching the world go by on the River Thames (Narrowboats, Tour Boats, Canoes, Kayaks, Stand Up Paddle Boards, Ducks, Geese etc) you select a table, order food at the bar, get an electronic gizmo to let you know when to collect your food from the serving hatch.
It's worth noting that
1-They don't have menus to take to the table they ask you to take a photo and look at it
2-They don't provide a tray so if you order more drinks than you can carry you're going to make multiple trips
3-You are your own waiter / waitress, you collect the food, cutlery, sauces and take it to the table
None of these were an issue just something to help orientate first time visitors.
I would certainly love the opportunity to visit again as it's such a beautiful place to eat and the food was fantastic with good portion sizes.
One of the most scenic and beautiful pubs in Oxford as far as location is concerned. Situated right on the banks of river Thames with stunning views, it is one of my favourite places in Oxford, especially during the summer months.
The food is excellent, but I found the portion to be slightly smaller. The choices of drinks are also good. One of the only negatives is that the service is a bit slow.
We just had our wedding here . Noreen & Adrian the owners could not do enough, for us on our special day food was amazing, staff that took care off our guests done a great job. We would recommend this venue if anyone is planning their wedding. We going to book here for our wedding anniversary . Bobbie Carlton new Mr! &. Mrs Mayhew
Not related to the terrorists. But just as exciting :) my favourite pub in the UK. Have delicious pints and amazing Sunday roast! The ploughman's is also amazing
Really enjoyed a trip here. Big family outing. The only downside was my meal. I ordered the ploughman's, it was expensive and very small. It came with some green grapes that were passed there best and were turning brown. Cheeses were ready but very small. A single slice of brown bread too that seemed really stingy. My kids had fish and chips that was great and very big. Barmaid (small, smiley, blonde) was lovely & friendly.
100% recommended for wedding receptions! We celebrated our wedding at the Isis Farmhouse in July of 2023. It was a beautiful and perfectly organised event. We arrived by boat and were greeted with drinks and canapés by the river front. Our guests enjoyed the relaxed and green environment and the kids loved playing with the lawn games. Dinner was then served in the marquee, and the food was delicious and arrived perfectly on time. All the waitressing staff were incredibly kind and professional, they really pulled off a perfect event. The party was kicked off with a live salsa band and everyone danced until the very end. Even the bartenders were dancing behind the bar while serving drinks. A fantastic and magic atmosphere. Aga, Noreen and her team were wonderful. They had so many great ideas and took the initiative to solve problems without us even noticing. They even made sure to keep some canapes reserved for us while we were having a couple’s photo session. You’re in the best hands if you decide to have your reception here. Aga and Noreen, thanks so so much to you and your team!
Isis Farmhouse is a delightful establishment that boasts a fantastic beer garden situated along the picturesque Thames River. If you're looking for a perfect spot to enjoy the summer weather, this place should definitely be on your list. Great selection of drinks. I didn’t try the food but looked good from afar!
It's got that quirky something that makes me enjoy this little place It's a little run down however that adds to the ambiance. Large beer garden next to the Thames great in summer grand in dry weather. The pub regularly puts on the odd band we were lucky on our visit to have these guys play their instruments great night.
Great atmosphere and food was fantastic! Being a home cooker and a massive bbq fan I am always sceptical and worried when ordering from pubs and restraunts. However I must say I was not disappointed and encourage everyone to try the bbq spare ribs! Will definitely be returning.
Really impressed with their social distancing measures, we had a lovely afternoon and felt totally safe and relaxed. Plenty of outdoor tables and they are very well spaced.
The fish and chips were delicious! We will be returning soon!
On this sunny Saturday lunch time the place was quite well attended. It appeared to be staffed with an all girl crew - convivial and efficient
Samples of unfamiliar beers were readily offered.
These people should be on the Cask Marque Ale Trail - the beers proffered were in noble condition.
Isis Farmhouse has a relaxed atmosphere and plenty of good ales and beers. The menu did not offer much variety. The vegetables and salads were fresh and crisp, but the vegan burgers we ordered were plain with no accompanying sauce, onions, mushrooms or anything to make them stand out. The order from the table app was not working, so on the day we visited I waited in line to put in our order while my husband secured a table. A cheerful young woman brought our order to our table - so know your table number before you get in line.
