Millefeuille Patisserie - Oxford, England. A small and modest, yet somehow colourful and inviting, addition to the already vibrant Cowley Road, Millefeuille Patisserie wears what its purpose is on its sleeve promising from the word go delightful homemade sweets. The service is good here; the lady who was on service at the time I went was really sweet and friendly. She was a real kid-friendly person, particularly with my niece there. From that alone, the patisserie is off to a good start.

Upon dropping into here, it looked like it had recently been set up. There were bits and pieces around showing the idea of aesthetics they were going for; these aesthetics were heavy on the simple eye candy of the food on display plus decorative fruit. It is easy to miss in many ways, with the only indication of the name being a board right outside the door to catch people's attention. For my sister, the namesake being a pastry was enough for her to memorise it.

Walking along here, this had not been noticed before. Out of some kindness, she went ordered a couple of coffees. She, herself, is not much of a coffee drinker. I am basically always up for one, and the other coffee was for her husband back at the apartment. Since there was a deal , plus a few sweets to eat along with it. At the time, there was a deal for a coffee plus any choice of sweet from the selection that was on display in the cabinet. The two selected choices were a blueberry custard tart, and the other could be best described as kind of a parfait in a cup. Just from the looks alone, these had me salivating.

It was a double cappuccino which I got. The coffee made here is not bad at all. It has a decent taste, the strength is agreeable and has elements of Italian-style espresso while being more akin to French press. Having some decent coffee, to me, is a gateway to justifying a sweet on the side. Fortunately, there is always a vibrant variety to assist that marriage.

The parfait cup was a mixture of items: from the bit of it I had I distinguished chocolate mousse (mind you, always good), fresh strawberries, and what could best be described as a sponge cake mixture. It was a mixture of goodies, with the richness of chocolate counter-balanced with the freshness of the strawberries. With the sponge part, it helped clump it together. Describing and critiquing it is a little tricky, as what it was is a bit nebulous only having a bit. Regardless, this sweet was pretty good and was fully flavourful making it a worthwhile snack for a few pounds.

However, there is no mistaking the blueberry custard tart. This little number was sensational. What starts it off, and is the ultimate reason that it sticks in mind, comes down to the crust. The texture of it is great, as it crumbles in the mouth and not in the hands. Biting into it, the taste of butter is overt and makes it the foundation of a great bakery sweet. Subtlety need not be utilised, the thick cream and generous sprinkling of blueberries on top add to the moreishness. It is a manageable size, and can even be shared. When it is - maybe - objectively a small item, but fills you up even in sharing, you know you are on to something of high quality. That is what the blueberry tart was like.

I wish the best of luck to this place, and whatever other endeavours are planned about it. This should become another haven for those with a sweet tooth around town, particularly when they still want high quality along with their sugar hit. Hopefully when I am back in town, this place will be well and truly on its way and going strong. In that regard, keep the faith.

I ordered a cake for my son's birthday, the morning of, for pickup at 2pm. I actually ordered a caramel cake but they contacted me to let me know Caramel was sold out. No worries, we got a beautiful Black Forest cake. Absolutely Scrumptious and and a looker! Staff are friendly and knowledgeable, which I appreciate.We ordered for my daughter back in January when her Nan was visiting (my mum has very high standards) again, it was lovely - Nanny Approved! This may just be our go- to-Bakery for special occasion cakes!

Since this shop opened many years ago I have always been buying cakes form them, very good quality and exceptionally good taste. Friendly people and good customer service with special offers form time to time.

Nice little gem! Lived 7 years in France and I have been craving 😫 for fresh cases and pastrys and this hits the spot nicely. I saw they do birthday cakes, will be ordering a blackforest soon 😁.
