Stopped overnight in our Motorhome. Wonderful place good home cooked food. I can't recommend this place high enough
The best curry from a pub ever! Super menu, friendly welcoming staff. So good we went back the following evening. And for us, which was very important. we could stay in their car park in our motorhome! Thank you Red Lion, we will be back. :)
Have stopped with our motorhome twice this year, for 2 nights each time.
We are always made to feel welcome.
The food is very good especially the homemade chicken gouchons, big portions. There is a nice variety of beers, that you are welcome to have a taster.
As a motorhomer it is well located within easy reach of the centre of Oxford.
It feels secure and once the pub has closed quite.
I would highly recommend.
Thanks very much for supplying a great service.
Long may it continue.

We had a lovely meal for Father's Day. We find ourselves returning to the Red Lion for proper Sunday roast and are also keen to try out the pizza oven one of these days. Great food and very friendly atmosphere!
Proper homemade roast and all the trimmings! Gravy is best ever! Even better was under 5's eat free - that is rare these days! Went for mothers day and loved the little gifts the mothers got, just made us all feel that little bit more special! Will be returning!
Stopped overnight in our motorhome on the way to Portsmouth for the ferry. Had a lovely meal and a couple of drinks to start our hols. Thanks for having us, would definitely recommend and visit again
Cracking pub. Friendly staff, good beer and good food. Love it.
Lovely friendly atmosphere. Great home cooked food would definately recommend . Thank you for a lovely experience
Stayed the night in our camper van very kindly for free. Good grassy area at the bottom of the car park for vans with another van also overnighting. Sadly we arrived too late for this but enjoyed the drink and friendly bar staff.
Great pub. Perfect for sitting outside in the summer time as has large garden with play area for the kids. Very family friendly. The food is fantastic and great value for money. The Sunday roasts are especially delicious
Great standard pub with good food and superb beer. Very good parking and outside sitting space.
Every visit I had last 25 years was good.
Thanks for letting us stay in our camper! What a lovely friendly pub and we had a fantastic meal. See you again for sure!
Awesome pub! Excellent management & staff, and great food! Highly recommended.
5 of us came for roast dinner yesterday!! It was delicious and lovely big portions! Just about managed pudding aswell! Lovely staff and friendly atmosphere. Thank you.
Food was absolutely delicious. Staff are friendly and welcoming. Lovely village pub
The Red Lion is a really great place we have stayed twice in our camper in the ground at the rear of the pub, The process is so easy and we happily spend money in the bar on food and drink. It is a great base for Oxford and we have family in Marston who all come in for a meal. The food is good the beer is good both trips have been in the winter and a welcome fire is burning. It seems a local success too as there are always happy customers which is lovely to see in pubs nowadays. The camper Parking is such a massive bonus, it feels rural and village like while being so close and convenient to all that Oxford has to offer. A real Gem! well done the Red Lion and thanks for a great stay. R&W
Great place to visit for food and the Guinness is amazing at great prices.. we went for 1 night in a motor home and ended up 2 Nights... Staff were very friendly and atmosphere was great speaking to the locals.. Stewart the landlord very friendly and couldn't do enough for you... 10 Star place.. thanks Stewart and staff also locals to make us Northerners Feel welcome... And yes we have the best sense of humour 🍺👍 Dean and Angie
I loved it. Absolutely wonderful. The pub is the only one in the vicinity. It has an old world charm about it. It's quiet- you can actually have a conversation. The music is great. Lovely space. Indoor and outdoor seating. The 14 bus passes right in front of the pub, so easy to reach. There's a car park too. What's not to like? Will definitely visit again and highly recommend.
Nice place to stay for a night. There's a place to stay with your vehicle and your recreation vehicle too. They won't charge you money for your stay, instead, you can have a drink, coffee or even have lunch. The pub is open till 12.00.
You can go to Oxford directly from there with the X3 bus. Not far at all.
My husband had the fish n’ chips and an IPA, everything was cooked well and tasted great. I had this delicious curry that was a bit of a surprise, but very welcome after jet lag/travel and a cold, rainy day. It was spiced well, not over spicy and well-balanced. Very tasty meal in a relaxed and inviting atmosphere. The owner really goes above and beyond in terms of service and running a great local pub. We will certainly return and recommend. Prices were quite reasonable and the food is approachable and very comforting.
Lovely pub with a really friendly welcome. Delicious food and portions are huge. Good choice of drinks including real ales. This pub welcomes motorhome homes to stay over on their large car park which is free if you have a meal. Perfect location for a visit to Oxford. Book in advance for both food and motorhomes on line. They get very busy.
Just dropped in for a quick drink when passing on a warm afternoon. The Wadsworth 6X was in fine condition.
Good selection of gins too.
We didn't eat (too late in the afternoon) but the menu looked to be a good range of standard pub grub. Next time, perhaps.
Good food. I had a pizza and it was tasty and fairly substantial for the price. Plenty of beers to choose from. Good landlord and staff.
I'm converted after the best sticky toffee pudding and Abbot Ale.
Watched tennis. Chilled. Nice atmosphere.
Lovely service.
Great pub and site for our motorhome, unfortunately stated on website food on a Sunday night but no food available when we stayed it was on father's Day so probably been very busy at lunch time.
Great pub with a large beer garden. Great choice of Real ales. Here for football. Excellent away supporters pub but needs more staff on to keep up with demand.
I live around the corner from here but have only recently starting going in with my pup Akita Tula. Every time the service has been absolutely outstanding and the food quality, delivery time and availability has been beyond great. Darts inside, Ping Pong table out the back with a lovely garden that catches the sun. Would highly recommend to anyone.
Oh my goodness, the pub is beautiful inside and out, the food is extraordinary, if I could give 10 star review I would. DO NOT HESITATE to spend some time here, the landlord and staff are second to none. Well done and thank you to you all for making my experience memorable for all the right reasons xxx
Friendly service, great staff and an absolutely top notch roast dinner which will keep me full for the next few days!
Be warned the portion sizes are large. You will not go hungry at this establishment. Wife took out a doggy bag. Lovely home cooked roast with amazing vegetables that were perfectly cooked. Not overcooked and still crunchy packed with flavour. Best roast I've had in ages (not counting wife's)
Very friendly, nice location scrumptious food and free overnight camper parking. Perfect location.
The food has consistently been good whenever we eat here and the staff are always friendly.
