Visited Head of the River for a drink after a river cruise. The staff were really friendly and welcoming on arrival, loads of real ale and craft beer to choose from - bar staff knowledgable with their beers - always a good sign. Plenty of seating inside and out, did not stay for food only the drinks but 5* for such a pleasant experience chatting with bar staff about their beers and the atmosphere was top, quite busy for 5pm on a Thursday so it must be a popular choice.

We came here yesterday for a drink and the staff were friendly and even though it became busy (as everyone came in from the rain) they still carried on with smiles on their faces! Ben had sorted me outside with napkins for the wet chairs (didn't even ask for help!). We decided to book dinner for today with Ben and again staff lived up to expectation and nothing was too much trouble. We moved tables so our dog wasn't in the way; again no trouble ! The chef even cut up the dinner ready for the dog to eat in his own bowl. The waitress Esther was wonderful, memory was fab and full of smiles every time I looked up and seeing her waiting the full set of tables. Both are a credit to The Head Of The River and if we ever visit Oxford again we will certainly be coming again.

Had a fabulous stay at the Head of the River. Perfectly placed for walking through the town. The indulgence room was great. A comfy bed, superb shower room and many complimentary items. All the staff were extremely helpful and breakfast set us up for another day sightseeing. Selection of wines was great for the.afternoon by the river.
