The pub where time stands still. Lovely experience, run by a lovely lady called Olive. Definitely worth a stop

Had a fantastic lunch at the Anchor today. It was the first time eating out with my baby, who has multiple food allergies, and the manager and chef were fantastic. Really accommodating and delicious food. We'll be back! Thanks a million :)

The food was a bit slow to come out but it was a Friday & busy. However the quality of the food made up for it. Our tastebuds were treated to a wonderful array of flavours. The service was very well done and the atmosphere pleasant. I'd definitely take my godfather here again! :)

I had the joy of finding this little bit of heaven last week. I had a quinoa and chick pea salad, (sorry for not remembering the exact name of the dish) but it was nevertheless gorgeous. The staff were very helpful and knowing that we were tight on time our food came in under twenty minutes. I find it particularity difficult usually to dine out because I am a wheat and gluten free Vegetarian but I'm happy to say the the Anchor not only serves up great food but they have staff who can't do enough for you. With it's tastefully decorated blend of old and new the whole place had an airy clean bright light comfortable and relaxed atmosphere, who could ask for more. Thank you, one and all. Can't wait for my next visit. Trish

I have been coming here with my friends very often. Sometimes for brunch, and sometimes for a Sunday roast or just a Mexican dinner. This cozy pub has left the best impressions! Hospitable hosts, delicious dishes, beautiful presentation, wide wine list and wonderful dessert. I recommend to everyone! I would like to come back here again and again. It’s a great experience. The ambiance is very welcoming and charming. Amazing wines, food and service. Staff are extremely knowledgeable and make great recommendations. I have to say, I enjoyed every single bite of the meal in this place. I had a 3 course meal, with a couple of beers. Considering the quality, the price is reasonable. Ideal for those who want a good night out. There was also plenty of room for bigger groups. They also have Mexican food in the terrace on Sundays where you can order tacos, quesadillas or burritos which are delicious 🤤 The Sunday roast is a must try, the meats are so good and the gravy on top is amazing! It’s a spacious place with a lot of back garden which is ideal for summer nights, especially now in the summer months. Also ideal for cold and wet days, there’s plenty of space inside and it is very cozy and warm.

Very nice upscale pub with very warm and inviting service. Our cocktails and food were fantastic. Maybe a little pricey but wouldn’t keep us from coming back.

Great local pub that's experienced a lovely refurbishment that includes a touch of classy and garden style gastro menu. The service is quick and eager to help. Food is light, savory and well presented.

We visited this favourite of ours today with friends. The quality of food is always good. The staff are always friendly, polite, and helpful. Today I ate seared tuna with a dressed warm potato salad. The tuna was over cooked but delicious nonetheless.

Wonderful gastropub set next to the canal with private dining rooms. At short notice, they arranged 24 of us to have dinner and provided amazing private dining rooms next to each other upstairs. Beautiful setting and great food. Most of the group loved their food, but a few had an issue with their burgers. Wonderful accommodating manager, great range of food including vegan and gluten free options. Good selection of drinks. Nice pub in a gorgeous setting. Small car park to the rear and Street parking available.

Great place to drink, an even better place to eat. Even though it was very busy the staff still found time to be polite and attentive :)

Great pub in Oxford to visit, especially while you can only sit outdoors! All ran very well, tables greatly spaced, heaters and fire pits everywhere, all under cover, really smart and we'll put together. Table service for drinks which was very fast. We only had a few side orders of food, but they were so good! We visited for a outdoors comedy night and it was great! So good for somewhere to put on entertainment while everything is still outdoors. Only thing I can say is that be warned it is a lot further from Oxford Train station/center of the city then expected! We had quite a hike to get up there, and by end of the night needed a taxi back.

Stylish decor, great atmosphere with attentive service. The ribs fell off the bone and the orange blossom cheesecake was fantastic. Just note there is a 10% service charge which I believe should always be discretionary

We rented one of the upstairs room for a graduation party and had an excellent experience. The room was quiet and good for conversation. Service was friendly and capable, and the food (pictured - salad and roasted carrot dishes) was fresh and delicious. Would go back!

Delicious food, we ate fish and chips (gorgeous taste) and veggie burger. It was very good, freshly made. What is also a huge advantage, the waiters take care about people with food allergies and special diets. Minus it was a bit cold inside.

Great rustic pub.. Moved on a long way since I first went there 40 years ago! £3.75 for half a pint of lager seemed a bit pricey though!!

Love this pub. They just do the basics well. Well kept range of beers and lager. Great menu. It’s not cheap but it’s comfortable and civilised. Good bar and waiting staff. Sadly they have turned their car park into an outdoor eating area (blooming covid!!!). So parking is a pain in a busy residential area at the weekend.

A nice pub just off the canal for great food. We stopped and had a selection of the starters, that actually turns out to be a tapas based lunch. The food quality was top notch. Good staff. Outdoor seating under a canopy

This is the best comfortable place to chat and drink with family and friends because they have a lot of fresh and tasteful food. I am always satisfied with the food and atmosphere. Especially in spring and summer it is definitely nice to spend time at terrace seat.

Nice vibe and decently priced cocktails. There is an outdoor tent area with lights and a ping pong table. Great for the summer.
