Fabulous authentic thai food. Probably some of the best we've had outside of Thailand. Fab inside decor, always clean and the staff are so friendly and helpful. Highly recommend it.
Best Thai food in Oxford
After 2 weeks vacation around UK, we started to get bored with fish & chips and needed something spicy. We accidentally found Bangkok House restaurant and it was to die for! What an authentic Thai food I could find in Oxford, strongly recommend!!!
I had a fantastic dinner with friends on Friday night. Absolutely delicious Thai food.
Cook heavenly, simple dish but powerful tasty!! The staff are attentive and super friendly. I would highly recommend!!
Delicious Thai cuisine served in a cosy little restaurant with a great ambience. Friendly staff and good menu options. They make a really good green curry. Come here with friends or eat alone, you can be sure of a lovely dinner.
เป็นร้านอาหารไทยที่เหมือนยกครัวไทยมาไว้อังกฤษอร่อยมากๆครับ ก๋วยเตี๋ยวต้มยำอร่อยฝุดๆ
Fantastic food. Great staff. Loved it
The Best ever! papaya salad is the best, Pad Thai noodle is wonderful, I love all...😘
Delicious food.. Friendly staff. Will definitely be going back
Love this place, the set menus are excellent and the Pad Thai is amazing
I really love this Thai Restaurant good taste in every dish and good service as well.
Delicious food lovely atmosphere and great service will definitely coming back!
Looked after our large group friendly, great service and great food
The good was delicious and the service was great. Lovely evening
Very nice but a bit expensive!
Excellent food & service on third visit to this establishment. As we arrived early, the courteous thoughtful staff placed us in one of their more comfy cubby areas as long as we felt we could finish dining in 2 hours due to a pre-booking. That was not a problem for us. The food tasted fresh and authentic compared to other Thai restaurants I have frequented where it is mainly fried unhealthy dishes and taste wise not much variety. Bravo Bangkok House - maintaining standards after 32 years in business! I agree with another prior reviewer - the best Thai restaurant in Oxford. 👏👏
Wow! What a treasure of a place. So glad we found it, so glad we booked a table as it was packed! Fabulous food, terrific service, clearly there's a lot of regulars here. Beautiful typical Thai furniture too. Highly recommend.
Really great dinner here. I've read plenty of the reviews about poor food and service, but we had a very different experience. The restaurant itself is beautiful inside, with plenty of traditional furniture and carved wood. Feels very homely. We were seated and served quickly, with drinks not taking long to arrive. We ordered the Green Curry plus an off menu rice dish which they happily made for us, which was a great touch.
The food was incredible. We've eaten at plenty of Thai restaurants, and this is on par with the best. I understand everyone has good/bad days, but I'd highly recommend the food and service here. It was also reasonably priced as £50 for a starter, 2 main courses and drinks, which I think is very reasonable!
Food was good. Not so authentic, but delicious. The starter platter was super! Staff were very nice and friendly.
Pretty good. I was expecting it to be bad because there wasn’t much people when we went but once we got our food it got packed. The place is clean, decorations and environment was interesting and very exotic south Asian. A great place for groups. Plenty of space. Service was attentive and food appeared quickly. I really liked the chicken pad thai. Would definitely recommend!!!!!
Honestly I was not in the mood- but the staff were friendly and happy to have us on short notice. The food came out very quickly - it was delicious and packed with flavour (even by Thai food standards).
Staff were lovely and attentive, despite a packed restaurant by 6:30.
I will be thinking about the beef massaman curry for a while! Definitely would recommend for a comforting tasty value meal
Lovely food, served quickly. The Panang Curry and the salt and pepper squid were delicious. Nice and relaxing environment.
We arrived with not much time to spare before a train; they ensured we were fed with time to spare and every part of the meal was simply superb. The service was attentive to our needs and much appreciated. The food was simply excellent, despite having been made swiftly due to our limited time. A wholesome, tasty and honestly very pleasant experience. I will absolutely be back, especially when I have more time to enjoy the superb food more.
Such an amazing surprise! The food was simply delicious, with generous portions and quite affordable prices. The service was fast and staff was lovely. We’ll definitely be coming back.
The reviews online are not wrong. The restaurant is centrally located in proximity to the train station. The ambience is lovely and traditional. The staff are gentle, kind, welcoming and attentive. The food portions are generous and well presented, arriving piping hot. The menu is extensive. The meal did not feel rushed at all. Despite it being a Saturday night - we stayed for almost 4 hours and did not feel pressured to end the dining experience even though the restaurant was full. I would recommend booking in advance.
I would like to thank all the staff at this restaurant for such a lovely dining experience. Thank you!
Thai food in celebration of my birthday! The ambiance is really good, too is the service. An exceptionally wide selection of food and drink: every item was so delicious! The iced tea is a bit too sweet for my taste, yet the chance of having Thai iced tea itself does not come every day. We had the set menu for two, but I will definitely come back to try other delicious food.
Update (new photo; the previous two got lost when I was editing the comments): to celebrate the coming of November! Pad Thai is a bit bland; everything else is perfect.
Great food great environment. Always love their tables and chairs. Staff were very nice and friendly.
Mix starter with the mini satay grill stand was good. Curry and crab fried rice were very good too.
Steamed Thai style fish is slightly cold when served.
Very good for the price, generally really nice place to be.
Set menu was very good,
Will be back in the future
My favourite place in Oxford for Thai food. Authentic atmosphere, and very good food. Conveniently, it is close to the train station, in case you'd like to treat your friends coming to Oxford for a day and who doesn't want to miss their train.
Felt like I was transported back to Thailand. I had the Tom yum (hot and spicy soup) and it was authentic, I got the mushroom variation but felt that the mushrooms they used weren't suitable and did change the flavour of the Tom yum, but it was still really good. Also got the pad Thai and felt that the original flavours could have been stronger, perhaps it was adjusted to suit the local palette - still yummy tho. Had the Thai iced tea that didn't taste like Thai iced tea. But It tasted like very nice iced tea, so it was still good.
Overall, quite authentic. Flavours could be abit stronger. But lovely place. Staff were friendly too.
This is by far the best Thai restaurant I have visited in Oxford. I have been here a few times now and it's always consistently very good. Excellent service and ambience with great food and selection of drinks. If you like Thai food and are in Oxford near the train station I can't recommend this place enough.
What an amazing place to feel treated with hospitality and absolutely yum food. It is one of the few restaurants I’ll be willing to take my utmost special guests. I can’t say anything about this restaurant but perfectionism personified. Xx
