Not the cheapest but probably the best full English breakfast I've ever had. It was big and greasy but seasoned and cooked perfectly. Their carrot cake is also excellent, and for lunch they do open sandwiches that don't look like much but will actually be a struggle to finish. Can get full at luncht
The best cooked breakfast I've had (sorry mum). All fresh locally prepared ingredients really push the quality of an everyday staple, the OJ was fantastic too, recommended!
Worthy of note is that there aren't many tables in the cafe, 23 seats available at count, but there are seats outside for anyo
I am very happy to report that this historic little cafe is now under new management and when I visited the other day on the recommendation of a friend, I could not have been more staggered by the transformation. Gone are the nicotine-stained walls, scuzzy plastic benches and tables, the fry-ups flo
Fantastic cute little cafe. Food is great (their sausage and mash is better than the Turf Tavern's), the prices are nice (had a lunch of Ham Hock Terrine, a pot of tea, and the desert of the day - an orange drizzle cake with clotted cream for £10.75), and super friendly staff. I am both glad and dis
This place is under new management as of the beginning of May 2013 and they are keen to please. We sat in the sunny window on comfy cushions on Tuesday and had a delightful lunch of proper Ham hock terrine and home made pea/mint soup with delicious bread. My mate had the home smoked fish plate which
One of our favourite Sunday morning breakfasts in Oxford; with friendly staff and a very helpful and attentive proprietor who seems keen on keeping the menu fresh and up to date. Definitely recommend the pancake options (and hot chocolate)
Fantastic food, brilliant service. My wife had the scones in true devonshire style. I had the most amazing twist on an eggs benedict in my life with a sumptuous black pudding. Highly recommend it.
Very small place, with a few tables. We had brunch there, the English breakfast was great, very good quality of products and tasty. Recommended for sure in the town.
Very welcoming. Service was a touch slow but the food was worth the wait. Had a very nice Pork belly with dauphinoise potatoes.
Went there recently and it was fantastic. Friendly staff and food was brilliant. A better fry up I have not found.
Still great 30 years on. So happy it is still here. An Oxford institution and rightly so, almost as famous as Oxford University.
Excellent food -- much better than the pub fare nearby. Grab dinner here before hitting the pubs for a beer.
Good quality food (specially fish) and nice breakfasts.
Small café full of charm. And the coffee is really nice
This cafe wasn't so posh in the 1980s. When I last visited.
Good quality, but a little bit expensive.
Great little place with good food and service
