A tasty place for coffee and pastries with friendly staff members. I tried a latte and a flat white ans both were great. The only downside is that there’s no wifi. The university people are probably okay as Eduroam is available.
The weather was rainy and chilly when we visited Oxford, so we really needed some hot drink to warm up our body. When we walked by The Missing Bean, we were appealed by the crowd in the store so we decided to give it a try.
The decor is narrow-spaced with limited seating but the ambiance is pretty cozy. There are lots of students gathering there with coffee & pastries. We had their hot latte, the taste was decent and the best thing for me was it’s super hot which was a must for me, especially in this chilly day.
Great coffee, lovely service and banger of a ham and cheese sandwich. Couldn't find a menu online ahead of time, but they had three savoury food options at the counter and a few more sweet baked goods in the shop window. Came for the food/coffee though stayed for the eavesdropping and people-watching.
Food here is great! Can’t recommend the little quiches enough. Went to kill some time before heading back to the train station and has a lovely window seating and outdoors area to enjoy the weather. Friendly staff and cafe merch for sale ❤️
The Missing Bean at Turl Street has been my home away from home while studying abroad at Oxford. I have spent numerous hours people watching from its windows, meeting friends, and frantically writing essays with the perfect cup of coffee and a warm smile to cheer me up. Its a student favorite for good reason: there are plenty of delicious pastries and food choices, numerous drinks (hot and cold, and lots of milk alternative options), and even an outdoor patio for summer time.
On my last day I did my final walk around the streets of Oxford and of course I had to stop by for my last latte, but I didn’t expect to be so deeply impacted when saying goodbye to the staff there, I won’t go into detail but they are truly a wonderful bunch and I won’t ever forget the act of kindness I experienced there that made my final day. Hope to return soon!
Lovely staff, amazing almond croissant, had a lovely chai. Will visit again
Great place for morning coffee and a croissant...with a buzzy atmosphere and warm welcome. There’s a quick turnover of sit-down clientele as well as a constant stream of take-away customers. The place is modern and hip. It’s accessible on street level for those with push chairs and less able people. There seems to be no toilet at all, for anyone, so accessible toilet facilities are not an issue!! Would happily return on subsequent days.
Lovely staff and great coffee! Can be a bit crowded but definitely worth it :)
Extremely busy place, good coffee and prices are equal do quality. Just bit dissapointed with stuff which is always different people - seems like noone stay there too long. And I never have space to seat there... Is always crowd..
Lovely coffee, nearly always need an extra shot whichever cafe I go to, which I did here, did perfectly. Great cinnamon bun too.
