The Folly - Oxford - Photo album

Lovely setting. Very attentive staff. Food beautifully presented. Tasted nice but not exceptional. Pricey. Worth combining a river cruise with your meal to create an experience.
Had a six-course tasting menu at the Folly following a river cruise by Oxford River Cruises. We finished our cruise sitting at windows seats overlooking the Thames – what a delight. The staff at The Folly were very attentive and they coordinated so efficiently with Oxford River Cruises who’s cruise
Lovely place on the river for afternoon tea. It was a shame we were there in the rain and had an outside table booked. However, they moved us indoors with no problem! Afternoon tea was delicious with the option of adding on a glass of prosecco. Good service and nice surroundings.
We did afternoon tea River cruise and it was really fab!!! It was a Christmas present so I wasn't sure what to expect as I hadn't booked it myself. It was such a lovely treat. Small boat with only a couple of other families, very knowledgeable and pleasant guide/skipper, best scones in Oxford, lovel
We did an afternoon tea on the river from the restaurant. The food was fab, especially the scones, yum! We had a great day so sailing down the river in the sunshine was fabulous. Captain Nick did a wonderful job of explaining areas in the river and was entertaining and knowledgeable. We loved the wh
A brilliant contemporary take on our traditional british cuisine. Exceptionally constructed dishes, beautifully presented. The staff are perfect hosts. The physical dining experience is sharp yet inviting. The riverside location is idyllic. Menus are clearly labelled with allergen information.
Lovely and well priced restaurant on the river. We ate outside and enjoyed a blueberry cocktail. Weather showing this is a great option. The food was good and the service unobtrusive.
Exceptional food, great venue overlooking the river and boats - service was attentive and friendly! We both ordered the lamb pave with triple cooked chips for our dinner. It was also made for my GF and DF sensitivity. The flavour was wonderful, lamb cooked to perfection, and those croquettes were to
The restaurant was right next to the Thames river. We had nice seats by the windows but sadly couldn’t see the water - the roof of the marquee by the water blocked most of the view. There is a choice between an à la Carte or a 6 course prefix menu which offers six items from the à la carte. The food
Went to the Folly for afternoon tea with a glass of bubbly. It's pretty cheap considering we are in Oxford, and the location by the Thame is charming. I was a bit disappointed with the food, though. Most of the sandwiches were really bland. The egg sandwiches tasted like mushrooms, which was really
Delicious afternoon tea recently had here. Weather was lovely so we were able to sit outside to enjoy. Staff were all very friendly. The tea itself was very reasonably priced.
I recently dined at The Folly and was thoroughly impressed by the entire experience. From the moment we walked through the door, we were greeted with a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The decor was stylish and inviting, and the staff was friendly and attentive. The food was truly incredible. Every d
Overall great experience and service. Location on the bridge itself has a wonderful view that is fitting for the nice dine in experience. We had the afternoon tea which was well prepared and scones were great. Worth mentioning the afternoon tea/ coffee are unlimited re-fills so feel free to make th
Absolutely lovely food, and very friendly staff. We have a beautiful day, thank you.
An absolutely lovely dinner at the Folly! The presentation of the dishes was superb and unique, and everything was delicious. Service was top-notch -- our water was filled up regularly without us needing to ask, and our finished plates were taken away quickly. The restaurant has a beautiful view of
Food outstanding. Marred somewhat by the household chores being done while I was there - hoovering the ceiling ducts. Please clean when no one there especially when chores are noisy!
What an absolutely fantastic restaurant. I did the river cruise with a three course meal this evening, and I would give it 6 stars if I could. That staff are warm and friendly, the service is quick, but well paced. I had the pork belly as my main course and then entire dish melts in your mouth. Phen
Celebrated my Mum's 70th with a cruise and dine from Oxford River Cruises and The Folly restaurant. Highly recommend this trip. The cruise guide Joe was brilliant. After the cruise you have a 3 course meal in the restaurant which was delicious. The staff all really looked after us. Would definitely
