We had to wait about 15 minutes in a queue before entering but it totally worth it. Delicious meals, very big potions, friendly staff. The menu each time is limited but you’ll find interesting options for you. They make sushi only on Thursday evenings.
The place isn’t that spacious and there is only
One of my favorite restaurants I have ate at in the UK!! Went here twice during my 2 day stay in Oxford because the home-cooked food is so comforting. Extremely high quality and greatly priced for the portion sizes. You are seated with other parties, which is pretty common in Asia. Highly recommend
Heard great things about this place and have been wanting to try for ages! unfortunately there’s always a long line outside and so I only managed to get in today after trying three separate times.
I had the yakiniku beef special (£9), miso soup and rice, and my vegan friend got the tofu steak. We a
Food was good, but slightly on the pricey side. Seats are limited so sharing with other customers is an efficient and effective way to serve more people! Highly recommend the stir fried burdock!
A wonderful place, a genuine taste of Japan in a small, crowded but friendly space in Oxford. It's excellent value, properly Japanese in flavour and rightly one of the most packed places in the city.
Amazing food and staff, great prices. I think the best sushi I've had in Oxford. Generally a queue but you are seated quickly and definitely worth the wait. Sushi night is Thursday night. Will be back soon to try the normal menu! Highly recommended
I try and eat here every time I’m in Oxford as I grew up in Japan and love their simple but fresh home cooked food and fresh ingredients.
The menus have few dishes but they concentrate on quality.
It’s very popular and there are often lines outside this small restaurant. But turn around is quick—
My first time in Edamame was my first time trying Japanese food. I went back yesterday for the first time in eight years, expecting it to fall short of my memory and every bite was just as delicious as it ever was! Still a bargain too.
After seeing some of their Yelp reviews, I decided to have lunch at this restaurant during a day trip to Oxford. I could not have made a better choice. My mom ordered the salmon teri. The quality of the salmon was exceptional, and the teriyaki sauce was far from standard--in fact, I think it's the b
Loved it! The place is very small in a beautiful area of Oxford on Hollywell Street, opposite new college, which creates a great atmosphere. Staff were really friendly and accommodating, including finding space for our push chair. But mostly the food is great. We had dishes from the Lunch menu, with
Tucked away in a quiet street just outside the center of Oxford. Small restaurant with only a few stool lined tables. Is seated at the larger tables you of often share the table with another party. I was here for dinner on a Saturday evening. Nice choice of fish, meat and vegetable dishes, quality a
Authentic Japanese restaurant, recommended by my Japanese friend. The food was tasty, and price was really reasonable. They don't take reservations though so you just turn up.
They're closed for the summer for a few weeks though
You can eat them as Japanese quality. Katsu is very fine. Yakiniku is not but.
We recently dined at Edamame restaurant in Oxford and had an amazing culinary experience. We started with the refreshing edamame salad, a perfect blend of crispiness and flavors. The main dishes, chicken katsu and boneless chicken with rice, impressed us with their juiciness and perfect seasoning. T
authentic and heart-warming japanese food ! it was small, intimate restaurant with nice interior design. warning: don’t expect to get super spicy out of the spicy ramen, esp if you’re used to spicy foods like little miss mexican me 😅🔥 still fire tho. also, iced tea is not as sweet as you’re used to
One of my favourite restaurants, I eat there once every 2-3 weeks. The food is always tasty, and the staff are really nice and helpful. I recommend it!
Gonna be real here: the first time I went on a non-sushi night I had such high expectations since my friends recommended it so often but I was a BIT underwhelmed. Victim of my own expectations, really, cause the food (I had stir-fried squid) was good but not show-stopping. Then I went on a Thursday
