The Standard - Oxford - Photo album

Food great as ever at this small and intimate Indian restaurant. Busy Saturday night turning tables meant that our bill was presented as soon as the main course was cleared away without being requested or checking if we wanted anything else. This brought our evening with friends to an abrupt end.
Going to the UK, besides Fish & Chips, you must eat Indian Food. It can be north or south Indian cuisines, generally (in my personal opinion) it cannot go wrong. The Standard is certainly within expectation. I savour every moment of it. I let the pictures do the communication. Would I revisit The
We have been ordering from The Standard for a long time and already know how great the food is but I wanted to post a review to say thank you for our lunch which was delivered on Sunday. It was for a large group to celebrate a birthday so it was important to get everything right and we were not let
An excellent Indian restaurant. An excellent Indian restaurant. The dishes were delicious, spicy. We loved them very much. The mango dip - Amaba was superbly made properly! Required! Nan bread was hot and fresh. Excellent, professional, fast and courteous service.
So much has changed for us since we fist popped in to the Standard for a date night eight years ago. We now consider The Standard to be our favourite restaurant in Oxford. The owners have passed on their charm and warmth, creating a menu of exceptional food that excites the senses and an atmosphere
Calm, clean, pretty quick, fresh food.. great service, faultless and friendly. In my opinion having tried every restaurant along Walton Street this is by far the best for food, service and consistency. I really rate this place. 10 tables inside approx and 4 outside. It's a fair price and relaxed set
Very enjoyable. Me and a friend turned up on a saturday night just gone at 10pm. Very welcoming and attentive. We both enjoyed the food and requested off the menu dishes which was not a problem. The food is plentiful and full of flavour. Chicken tikka madras was my main and beautiful. Thank you all.
One of the best Indian meals we have enjoyed in the UK. Small but interesting menu, brilliant flavours. Good house wine.
The Standard is my favourite restaurant in Oxford by far! The food is always delicious, and the staff are really friendly and accomodating, often going above and beyond.
Best Indian food I had in a while. We shared different dishes. Advise taking a main per person, have a few sides and the rice portions are quite generous so possible to share among 2.
Fantastic food, whether eating in or taking away. The staff are wonderful, my go to restaurant for an Indian in Oxford.
Very affordable, delicious, authentic indian food in the heart of Oxford! Service was 10/10. We had a little one who doesn’t eat spicy food and the staff members were very kind and understanding by offering to make plain chicken tandoori starter size, needless to say, my daughter loved it and even w
Non-conspicuous venue and limited parking. Spicy and curry food and service are good. Customers get reasonable value for money.
Food was really good quality, and value for money
This is my absolute favorite restaurant in Oxford! The food is always fantastic and no matter what I order I am always delighted with my meal! Everything I tasted melted in my mouths. Service is unmatched. Staff truly cares about your experience, always efficient, happy and polite. Absolutely the b
Terrific place with lovely people and delicious food. I’ve been eating and having takeaways from the Standard for over 30 years and never been disappointed. There’s always a great welcome and, during the time I had to use a walking stick, lots of consideration.
Absolutely wonderful. Everyone was extremely friendly and professional; some of the best service I've ever had! The food was lovely too, particularly the prawn pathia :)
Best Indian food I've had in years! Will be coming back very soon.
