What a place, felt like I was in another country! All of the food we had (apart from the pork ribs, a bit tough) was delicious, babaganoush, stuffed peppers, prawns and chorizo, mergueze (?spelling...), chicken wings to name a few of the tasty dishes we had, would recommend and return very happily

What an amazing place. It is all it claims to be on the website. Fantastic food, very friendly service and vibrant atmosphere. Despite being very busy and fitting 6 of us as a late booking- we were welcomed warmly and served quickly. Great value too! Would recommend anytime. Thank you to all the staff last night. X

The interiors of this place is the biggest win point for them. Situated on the start of Cowley Road, this place serves food as well as drinks. Personally, I loved the food but some people can find it pricey. Pair it with a nice wine and live music and this place will win over you.

Kazbar - Oxford, England. Kazbar finds itself just in the middle of a residential area of Oxford and a short walk from some of Oxford's many parks and universities. It is one of the more unique places to eat at, but maybe more for a social quick catch-up than an actual meal.

While inside, you could easily be in another place. One cannot deny that there is atmosphere here. The interior is actually layed out like a Morrocan house with the shape of the doorways and the look of the pillars, it is something to actually see instead of hear about.

Service here depends on what you get, there can be really friendly people (one guy who from memory did not serve the table I was at actually interacted upon exiting - pretty darn good for being a first-time diner). here and generally people who are simply doing their job. The mix is ecclectic.

By saying it is not ideal for an actual meal, Kazbar is essentially a tapas bar somewhere to go for a snack or pre-dinner nibbles before heading elsewhere. Amongst the tapas I tried, they included;
hommous - which is essentially hommous, not bad but what can be said about it that is not already known?
pulpoa la gallega - sliced octopus legs, this was less chewy than octopus usually is and the olive oil adds to it.
cous cous - same as the hommous.
patatasa lo pobre - potatoes cooked with peppers and white wine. The potatoes were well cooked and covered in a delicious sauce.
carne picada - spiced mince lamb combined with hommous, pinenuts and herb oil topped with a chili. This has to be tried; I could not get enough.
costillasibericas - oven roasted pork ribs. These were meh!

While food was decent, the real star is the atmospheric ambiance. This is an example of a place where the draw is - in part - being different to the other surrounding options. If there is another group gathering I might consider a return; this especially goes if there is anyone who has not been here before.

Food was ok. Nothing amazing or outstanding. Just good solid tapas. Drinks were good would highly recommend the golden margarita. Overall would have been so much better had service just been remotely better. Heard another table complain they had not received something they ordered. We had the same issue and had to find a service staff for an order that didn’t arrive. We also had a drink added to our bill which wasn’t ours that was removed. This place could be so much better if they upskill their service staff and had a manager just keep an eye out on the tables.

Incredible venue!!!! Wow! It looked amazing from outside but didn’t realised how nice it is inside as well :) it totally took us to Spain :)! We only had drinks and dessert but the drinks were lovely and the creme brûlée was great! Would love to try some cocktails next time :)

Cool place with excellent atmosphere and some level of access. So, you can get a chair in here with help (double doors need opening) and if you do then the food and atmosphere will make it worth it. So, first things first. Food: lots of amazing tapas available here for sharing and everything tastes great! You can have cocktails and quite a large selection of alcohol. The music is great. There are seats outside and inside and the side windows open up so that you've got breeze or sun. Atmosphere: this place has a bar type of feel even in the day. But it's relaxed. Not a place for dancing or anything and not sleepy. Food comes fast and music is relatively low but still bar style. A lot of manu chao and similar. Service: excellent all day all the time.

White Sangria was really good, I would definitely have it again. We went as a large group and there was some confusion when the meals came out. They should maybe consider numbering the items as it’s more likely that people will remember. Some of the food was really good, other bits were average.

What a great place, almost like travelling back in time to old time Morocco. I didn't eat, so cannot comment on the food personally, but my friends thought it was yummy. More of a hang out. Great for cocktails. Can't wait to go again.

Best culinary and dining out with friends experience we have had in Oxford. The food feels authentic and tastes divine ( it does add up though so watch out ) ! I really cannot sell it enough. The wait staff are so quick, polite and super super fun !! ( the 10% service charge really does not do them justice ). The atmosphere and ambience of the place is lovely as you can hear the chatter around you and the lighting is very deep. The restaurant itself is very nicely decorated and doesn't look like other boring chain restaurants. We appreciated the boozy cocktails and especially loved the jugs of sangria !! Thank you so much to this restaurant for making each bit of the night so good. Also the place is wheelchair accessible and friendly .

It was quiet and only my 2 friends and I on a Tuesday evening but they stayed open till after 11pm. The chorizo tapas was very tasty and I enjoyed the Spanish beer. I loved the decor and atmosphere of the place (even with just the 3 of us).

Delicious tapas, highly recommend the chorizo ring and the pork cheek! The menu recommends 2-3 dishes each, but we ended up with 4-5 each, which was about right for our appetites. The service was friendly, but they seemed understaffed with only 3 very busy waitresses for an almost full restaurant.
