What an absolutely delicious prawn and rice noodle starter last night... it sounded so good we both had it. A really generous portion of prawns and aactually that would have done me but we followed it with the smaller 5oz steak a steal at I think £11. Spot on. This in my opinion is the best food in the village at the best price. Was just wondering though if you have thought about making the restaurant end more like the informal pub end where we tend to eat as it is cosier...
As a family, we have hired the function room to celebrate a 50th, 18th, joint 40th&50th and this weekend my mums 70th! The food has always been amazing and the buffet was too. We're still eating the leftovers and all our guests were full and incredibly complimentary about the beautiful venue (all of them had come from outside of Hampshire)!
We're already planning the next party as it's such great value for money with very attentive staff. I would highly recommend to anyone thinking of a party/gathering.
We have both come to the red lion for a number of years. Have never posted a review because we know the food is always great. Tonight though the food has been amazing! A good selection across the main menu but picking off the special board lets the kitchen come alive. Highly recommend

Super gastro pub.. Good local beers and drink selections, and the food (particularly the steak) is superb. Service is super friendly although sometimes a bit slow when they're really busy. Prices are on the higher end of the scale but not silly, and the atmosphere is inclusive and warm.
I have an absolutely superb speciality steak lunch here - food is outstanding yet at very reasonable pub prices.

In the UK for 3 weeks and buy far the best steak of the trip, wife's tuna was delicious. Perfect after as trip to Bombay Sapphire!

After worthy 6 mile circular walk we had lunch at the Red Lion. Warm welcome, very friendly and helpful barmaid, good food (ham, egg and chips) pleasant Doombar 🍺 and coffee. This pub is amazing. The owners are friendly and very accommodating. Nice range of drinks and not stupid prices either. Easy to find and a must if you are in the area!!
Went to see a comedian last night with a friend at the Red Lion. The acts were great and we had a right laugh. At £8 a ticket it was a bargain!!! Whilst we were there we both had a burger. The food was great and a nice size portion. The service was also really good. Overall couldn’t fault it. Well done to everyone on the team. Fab night out 👌

A short stop for liquid refreshment whilst on bike ride, but excellent outside seating with cover if needed. Great local beer. Quaint inside meals being served but I didn't try them.
Well worth the wait. Absolutely amazing food will try out best to come back if we are ever in the area again.
We didn't book and managed to get food on a Sunday. Yes it took quite a while (over an hour) but I'd do it again for another taste of that duck lasagna
Did not eat here but sat for drinks in the back garden in the sun. Great little pub with reasonable prices and friendly staff. Dogs are welcome inside and out.

Friendly pub in Overton. We selected food from the sandwich menu. The range was limited but there were vegetarian options and the prices were reasonable. It took some time to be served but when it arrived it was worth the wait. The pub had a reasonable selection of real ales and we were able to sample them.
Called in for food and drinks over a few hours on a Saturday evening, whilst playing a few card games we'd brought. Plenty of space in the late afternoon so we had a decent table to play at. There's a good selection of drinks, a very tasty range of food (we had the chicken pie and burger) and superb friendly service. We'll be back if we're in town again. Sorry no good food photos I'm afraid, not great at taking them!
Very enjoyable lunch. Nice burger and chips were delicious. Banana Split I would highly recommend very yummy! Friendly staff and reasonably priced.

Wow! 2-4-1 burger night on a Thursday was just the ticket after our wine tasting session. They really know how to knock out a burger here. Beautifully cooked with all the trimmings. Will definitely be back.

I love travelling to Overton to be with friends at the Red Lion. Always a great music night on Fridays. The Beer is superb and the staff so welcoming. I’ve Know Victoria and David for many years now and they are superb Hosts. Always a great welcome at the Red Lion. Oh and I have a family connection to the place, my Dad used to care for the garden in the 1950s/60s. Yes thank Good ess for the 76 bus.
Unfortunately we were unable to have lunch but we enjoyed a drink in the "Tolkien Corner". Personally I found the ambiance wonderful, the barman very friendly and will certainly visit again. Just not on a Tuesday.
