Excellent pub really friendly atmosphere must visit !!!!!!!
Great atmosphere and super friendly staff! Would definitely come again !
Absolute gem of a place, customer service was fantastic. The lady running the kitchen was so bloody nice and treat my dog to a Sunday dinner. Nothing was too much trouble and food portions were HUGE. My partner has autism and usually struggles with new places due to sensitivities to fruits and vegetables so always asks for things plain, and it is one of the only places that has actually given him what he asked for the first time without him becoming stressed at the thought of asking for something to be changed. The young lady who took his order was clear in her understanding of what he asked for. Maybe small things to some people but huge to us as food is a massive trigger for him. Thank you to such a great team for making us feel so welcome. Will definitely come again soon. Five Stars π
The Watts Arms is a nice traditional village pub. It is situated just off the main road, so you dont notice it when you drive through the village. It is a two roomed pub with the lounge mainly for meals. The bar has a dartboard and a pool table. There is a good choice of beers, lagers, and cider, including two cask conditioned hand pulled real ales. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. I haven't had any food here, so I can not comment on the meals. There is some outside seating. A good pub worth visiting.
Behind an unassuming frontage lies a welcoming pub who serve honest home-cooked food and the portions are huge! Stopped in my tracks by delicious sweet and sour chicken whilst my family had a similar experience with their meals! Great value and fast, kind wait staff. Wish I knew about this place at the start of my holiday in the local area, we'd have been back loads!
Arrived early so enjoyed a couple of drinks outside in the sunshine.
We were seated straight away and because we'd both pre ordered our food it arrived with 5 minutes.
We were both so hungry the portion size didn't dissapoint, we both had meat pie, chips and garden peas with an extra gravy boat (didn't need the extra gravy as there was plenty inside). Our food was absolutely delicious, the pastry was light and crispy, the steak filling was tender, lean and tasty and proper home made chips. All rinsed down with a beer and a glass of wine or 3 π€£π.
Nice surroundings and busy, so booking essential, lovely fresh flowers on the tables which I thought was a really nice touch, I personally love flowers π
Highly recommend, we'll definitely be back soon π
The portions are unreal. The steak pie was massive. 4 of us went, and i wished I'd taken a pic of the other meals! The mini mixed is huge and on an oval plate. 4 people with a drink each Β£60
Popped in for a couple of pints while staying in the area. Two rooms , bar looked small and busy so we went in the "lounge" . Very friendly , and our small dog welcomed. It was a bit stark and brightly lit, however was clean and looked like some decorating/refurb had taken place. Decent choice of beers on draught and partner had red wine. Didnt eat so cant comment. Pleasant hour or so spent before we left to grab takeaway from over the road.
Been here tonight with family and food was top notch. Huge portions and value for money. Kids loved it.
We visited The Watts Arms whilst working in the area. Real local pub servicing fantastic home made food at excellent prices. Be warned the portions are not small. Super value for money and the quality is top notch. Drinks are very well priced also. We will visit again when in the area. Thanks for the great food and service on our visit.
The perfect example of 'not to judge a book by its cover'.
We were recently on a getaway in Haldham and we visited the Watts Arms when we needed a place to dine.
When we arrived outside at first we were a little put off, it didn't look the most inviting and I almost got back in the car and left but I'm glad that we didn't.
The gent behind the bar was really friendly and pleasant to talk to, the service was really good and the food was excellent.
We were so happy with the food, I bought the cheese burger and my partner bought the stake and ale pie. The burger was big and heavy, very filling and cooked beautifully. The stake and ale pie was very flavoursome, the meat was well cooked and the pie crust was great. The chips were very home made and tasty.
We then ordered food to takeaway the next day and bought the same thing again. A hidden gem and well worth the visit.
A lovely place to eat and drink at, although I do think they could do with some redecor, it's not necessary but it's the only thing I would say would make it an even better experience.
Food is absolutely amazing! Large portions and tastes good too! Excellent value for money and will definitely be back!
