A little peace of heaven hidden away from the masses. Have been coming for years though our last visit was over a year ago - we brought some friends to experience this fabulous place. New owners are very friendly and welcoming - lovely homely atmosphere and the scenery cannot help but take your breath away. Didn't have time to stay for a meal but the gin was fab - with a little bit of sage out of the garden. Thank you.
Finally made it along for a meal in the new rejuvenated Oystercatcher. Having been coming to this place for 34 years I can honestly say this is the best incarnation yet!
The new owners are fantastic, friendly and have clearly invested a lot of thought in their vision for the place.
Starting with the good stuff... Their choice of beers is commendable - nice to see a real appreciation of Scottish produce and not going down the bland lager, heavy and cider route. Great to see the return of Fyne Ales!
The wine list I understand is being developed but even as it is - a small but good selection. We thoroughly enjoyed the Malbec.
I'm not a gin drinker but the choice was impressive!
And to the food - in a word amazing. There wasn't the usual pub food offerings but the result was all of us kids and adults trying new things and it went down well with everyone. You really can't beat good seasonal produce prepared with thought and imagination.
The coffee and (daily freshly made) cake are also top quality.
So, all in all 11/10
Absolutely stunning food and friendly staff! Fish melted in your mouth, even the side salad was just melt in the mouth... everything that came past our table looked stunning too c
Fantastic pub with great ambience staff and craft beer too. We love what the new owners have done with the place. They've created a wee gem in a gem of a place.
A must visit. Amazing location, fabulous food, super friendly staff providing excellent service. I've visited here on so many occasions and can't wait to return. Super consistent 5*.
What an amazing place. The scenery is outstanding, the food is gorgeous and the staff are lovely.
We tried our first oysters there and they were excellent. Will definitely be back.
3 of us had a fantastic evening last night. The staff were warm and friendly, the fire was crackling, great views across the Loch from our table, and the food..........Wow.
Beautiful food, served in good time, presented with care and sooooo tasty. Great house red, and Ale selection. Brilliant value. We can't wait to come back to try the burgers!!!! Well done, and good luck in your new venture :)
Excellent service and food, nice to have a change in menu especially at lunch time , was very busy but still got table and no waiting to get served..
Had an excellent meal as a family of four 2 adults 2 children. Kids menu was perfect and all fresh. Daughter had fish coujons and chips and son chicken and chips, all fresh and delicious. Husband had a lamb pie and myself fish and chips again all perfect. Kids loved the home made tom sauce and the setting is just stunning, Loch front and all the peace in the world. Log fire was burning and sweet retro decoration throughout. All spotless. Cant wait to return.
Amazing food and service was amazing I can't thank start enough for being s amazing xx
Visited for a meal this evening. Had a lovely meal. The Dark chocolate, caramel and pecan brownie was delicious. Great latte too.
Just 'found' this place yesterday on my first visit to Argylls Secret Coast and delighted I was. Lovely food, excellent personal friendly service, stunning location. Definitely will be back and I'll tell everyone about it. Thanks everyone.
Went for lunch yesterday. Have wanted to go for so long to this hidden gem. The weather really helped and we sat outside in the sun. The food was fabulous, I had the burger which was brilliant, and other diners had the langoustines and mussels which looked fantastic too. The service was prompt and the staff were very helpful. I would recommend this to anyone in this part of the world but make sure you book in advance as spaces for dining are limited. Thank you very much, I will be back.
Delicious food! The Loch fyne soup is ridiculously good, amd the seafood is the best in the area.
Great wine menu and local beers (try the Workbench!)
Fantastic service from lovely staff.
Beautiful venue in a stunning setting.
Book in advance.
What a magical place. It has the atmosphere of a cosy pub, but the food is absolutely excellent. We had the roast cod which was caught in Loch Fyne, and it was one of the best fish dishes we've tried. The langoustines were also really fresh and tasty in the garlic sauce. It's a bit off the beaten track but totally worth the detour. The service is really friendly too. It's advisable to book ahead if you're dining.
There incredible moments we all encounter in life and for me, it was an an amazing experience I and my cyclist buddy had at this beautiful restaurant. The fabulous manager phoebe with wonderful customer care welcomed us, asked us about our fundraising ride. Moments later, she donated to us on top of giving us free classy drinks. What a fabulous generous human being you are phoebe! And the mussels I ended up ordering were so tasty. Thank you so much and will make it habit to come over every time I holiday at home in Glen massen.
Beautiful restuarant/bar with outside seating, which is perfect to watch the sunset.
Menu changes regularly, everything we tried was delicious. They also have a good wine list 😊
What a brilliant find!!! We stumbled across this lovely pub and restaurant after a dog walk! Fabulous welcoming staff, service and the shellfish 🦐 was amazing!! We had the local langoustines, mussels and hake, all first class!!!
Nice pub, beautiful location just at the corner of the road on the water.
They have outside seating too, which faces over the water and can watch the sunset.
Dogs are allowed both inside and out.
Toilets available.
Booking is definitely advised for this establishment as they seem to be open adhock hours.
I cannot comment on the food, as they weren't serving when we went there. But what I can say is that the hot chocolate is very nice !!!
Lovely pub, nice pints next to otter ferry. Lovely views.
Food, service, view, all excellent... made better by the weather. Very dog friendly outside with plenty of space between tables, water bowls dotted around and plenty of grass and beach to go for a run on. Perfect lunch... thanks!
Well worth going out of your way to come here. Food excellent, friendly welcome and pleasantly rustic vibe. Beautiful Scottish scenery. What could be better.
