Nice pub enjoyed glass of Merlot and delicious nachos. Staff friendly and welcoming. Made fuss of my egg. I fancied a coffee and was delighted to find Darkwood coffee being served. For a minute I thought being in a Leeds postcode surrounded by beards and real ale clones! that the default, mandatory coffee would be North Star which tastes foul, I was pleasantly surprised by the smooth roast of Milkwood thankyou for making a choice for a more sophisticated palette. Arranged to meet friends here next week experience was so good.

A friendly pub with great sandwiches served through the day. The pub has a good selection of tasty beers and layers and a large covered outdoor area.

My wife and I stayed here in one of the rooms. Very clean. Decor is a bit old fashioned but it's obviously been done to retain the character of the period property. The food is excellent and there's plenty of it. One evening I had pie & mash. I was stuffed at the end of the meal. On this particular night the place was packed. The staff were working their backsides off, but they remained very courteous and service was prompt and friendly. They have some good beers and they also do coffee and hot chocolate, which suits my wife. The bar is a typical 'proper' pub style, no games machines or TVs. There are other eating areas, away from the main bar, if you want it a quieter. There's a large covered outdoor area. It has a large screen TV but it's not intrusive, and I imagine it will be great for major events. It has an events room. These events don't normally go on late, but may be a problem if you want an early night. Best to ask if there's anything going on when you book, so you can get a room at the other end of the building. There's a carpark across the road and a market square opposite.

I only call in for a coffee now and again which is lovely, one of the best made with oat milk in Otley I think, the food always looks nice so will definitely eat in there at some point, I like the look and feel of the pub, got a old look which I love when in a old historic town like Otley.

I visited the Black Horse, Otley, today, Thursday the 2nd of November (2023). The bar staff were friendly, the service was excellent and the beer was great. I can’t comment on the rooms as I didn’t stay.

Attended a friend's party there last weekend and had a great time. The decor is a little tired and a few niggly things during the night but they were remedied. I was told that the bedrooms were nice but unfortunately no breakfast provided. On the whole, the team are going in the right direction 👍
