We didn’t know a new restaurant had opened in the old Buon Apps building until a friend mentioned it. Phoned up today and managed to get a table for four. I had to change the time but the staff were very accommodating and polite. My husband and I took our 6 and 13yr old daughters. Great selection of starters and mains but not too many that you’re overwhelmed. We could have happily chosen anything on the menu but I opted for French onion soup followed by steak. My hubby chose belly pork followed by liver, our eldest had chicken and our youngest chose chicken from the lovely ‘little legs’ menu. Wow! The food was beautiful. The gruyere crouton in my soup melted in my mouth and my steak was cooked to perfection. All the other choices were equally as fantastic. Between us we had chocolate brownie, crumble and creme brûlée for dessert. An absolutely fantastic restaurant that we would highly recommend. Great food, great setting (with an added outside eating/drinking area) and polite, friendly staff. Well done all at The Mill!

A fantastic meal, great staff and lovely venue. We went for a work meal last Thursday night and all 7 of us really enjoyed the food, atmosphere and new, refreshed restaurant. The Steak pie was delicious!

Although we did not use the car park there’s plenty of parking space, I loved the stone table and seating arrangement outside, the staff were attentive, friendly and polite, lovely clean atmosphere in an old mill hence the name, the food was lovely and plenty of it, it was reasonably priced and a good selection of food on offer, I would definitely recommend this eating house and will return, thank you

We went last night, it's an absolute gem of a place! Extensive menu and all of it looked amazing it was so difficult to choose, I had the lamb kofta starter followed by corn fed chicken, both delicious my husband had the belly pork followed by the braised beef which just melted. Deserts were varied but we both opted for seasonal crumble just perfect! Service was excellent and the price reasonable, if I were to find a fault it would be the lack of Grand Marnier! But appreciate they can't stock everyone's favourite tipple! Lovely, will definitely return.

First time to visit The Mill, relaxed atmosphere, fabulous food, the Mill Nachos was a big hit. All food enjoyable, wine chilled to perfection. Staff chatty and approachable. Will be making a regular booking. No service charge included and at our choice happy to give a well deserved tip. Wish you every success for the future and see you soon

Mid week meal out

Great location on the river bank amongst Victorian mill buildings, ambiance perfect. Beautiful food and portions just the right size. I'm a fussy customer and this is the best meal out I've had in a long time. Very reasonable prices. Highly recommend

It's a very large complex with the restaurant in one section of the old mill. They didn't have cider except one special fruity one. I didn't enjoy my main course. The different pulses in the dish were bland and a little hard to bite into. The fish in that Moroccan Spiced Cod was good! The other person selected that dish agreed with me too. I was told the fish pie and the gluten free burger were good. Although the service was good, I wished the young lady attending to our table distributed the desert spoons and the paper serviettes among us instead of dumping them on the table.

This restaurant is really good and a must visit if you enjoy great food coupled with great service. The steak on offer was beautiful, cooked well and great value. As part of the deal we had, a bottle of wine was thrown in with both steaks. There is a nice ambience inside and the staff are very friendly

Lovely food nice place too. Unfortunately on this Saturday lunchtime we arrived at around 12.30 as booked but the gap between order taking and food arriving was a little frustrating as lunch took over 3 hours! Not sure if there was a staff issue as no one attended us in an upstairs room voluntarily, even had to go to the downstairs bar for a drink due to lack of waiting staff. Cannot fault the food it wad delicious.

Food was delicious, generous portions and excellent VFM. The staff were super friendly and courteous and it was refreshing not to be hurried out and rushed along... we will go back time after time! Thanks for a lovely experience Mill Bistro!

So good we went twice in a week! We have been meaning to go for ages and so glad we finally did. Had a lovely midweek meal, and then went back on Sunday for Sunday lunch and it was delicious. Staff are wonderful. The only thing I would say is I'm dairy and egg intolerant so there wasn't really any desserts for me!
