Just the best place - either for a leisurely drink on the patio enjoying the beautiful views or a lovely tasty family meal out - highly recommend
This place has worked out how to do it. The food is brilliant, the staff are top notch and they genuinely care about making sure the customer experience is spot on. A real jewel in the crown for a very affordable price. If you haven’t been, you should go.
We live only 5 minutes away, and it’s our first visit to the Roebuck. I have to say that we were very impressed with both the food and service. Very welcoming with roaring fires and delicious food. Jam roly poly was to die for.
Will definitely be going again very soon.
Delicious food. Veg is perfectly cooked - tasting fresh. We had the sea bass & risotto. Kids shared adult burger & fries - very good quality. Lovely decor & attentive polite staff. Enclosed outdoor space for kids to play.
Can't fault it in any way service was excellent and the food we had was out of this world strongly recommend the visit...... 5 stars from me.. *****
I have eaten here several times, and the food, service and atmosphere have ALWAYS been top notch. Beautiful views looking over towards the Chevin from the terrace too....weather permitting of course 👍👍👍👍👍
Five of us had a great evening. Wonderful food, lovely atmosphere and friendly staff. On the way out we booked to come again!
Absolutely fabulous place to eat! The food is amazing and the views are stunning! Can't wait to go back!
Fantastic food, top quality great atmosphere 👌🏼You won't regret it
We five have each had a fabulous meal at the Roebuck with starters, mains and desserts! Much easier than cooking on a Sunday and delicious! The men had pies of course. Fried brie in a crunchy shell is fab, and sticky toffee pudding was giant size and tasty! Another visit I'm sure.
Fabulous food, great atmosphere & excellent service. Highly recommended
Great atmosphere, lovely friendly staff and delicious food. Had a splendid evening and will def go again x
All 5 of us had Sunday Roast Beef Dinner, it was delicious with roast potatoes, big Yorkshire pudding & fresh veggies & lashings of gravy. We couldn't resist the desserts either, jam roly poly & Bakewell tart, the perfect finish to a great dinner. First class 👏🏼
Lovely meal today can't wait to go again
We were in the area walking and looked for somewhere to eat and found this place. Called to book a table and luckily they had a table for us!
Really lovely place. Cosy, warm and plenty of space between tables and had a lovely atmosphere. Even though all the tables were occupied it was not crazy loud and we could still have a sensible conversation (so many places just seem so loud when full)
The menu has enough choice for anyone to find something they want, and obviously because it was Sunday they were also doing roasts (but it's great they also do their regular menu on Sundays too)
I had the burger which was very impressive.
The burger itself was very big, juicy and very flavoursome.
I normally object to paying extra for cheese on a burger however there was a LOT of lovely melted cheese which tasted great with the meat of the burger.
I asked if I could have the pretzel bun that came with the 'garden burger' and was told yes with no hesitation. Glad I did as the pretzel bun was amazingly soft and doughy!
My wife got the roast beef which was also very good.
It came with a jug of gravy so you put on as much or little as you want. I wish everywhere did this!
Good quality beef, cooked nicely and still pink. Lovely buttery mash, perfectly cooked roast potatoes and a bowl of lovely well cooked vegetables.
We shared the sticky toffee pudding for dessert which was the best dessert I've ever had. The sponge was so so soft with a really lovely flavour. It came with a good amount of toffee sauce but not loads (the perfect amount) and unusually the sponge and sauce were not overly sweet which just made the whole thing even nicer to eat.
Service and pace of the whole meal was perfect. We didn't feel rushed at all, ordered quickly after being seated, and the food came out much quicker than we expected considering how busy the place was.
Prices are not cheap, however they are similar to many other places these days. But the quality of the food and service definitely made us feel that the prices here were worth paying.
I can't remember the last time we had such an all round amazing meal and we would definitely recommend this place and we will be back.
Thank you for an amazing experience.
We made a reservation here for lunch after a walk around the Cow and Calf, and they had a nice snug area for the 5 of us (plus a dog!). We went for the “famous pies” and they were truly delicious…amazing pastry, proper pies, great chips on the side. Relaxed, traditional atmosphere. The rest of the menu looked good as well, with a nice selection of vegetarian options. We would come here again just for the pies!
Food, service and ambiance was amazing! Very Christmasy! The festive menu was great, some of the best roasties and cauliflower cheese I've had at a pub. Parsnip soup and herby butter was delicious and the treacle tart was the best ever. I'm still dreaming of that treacle tart.
Stunning gastro pub, very delicious food and friendly and welcoming staff. Thank you guys 🙏🏻
What a lovely pub with fantastic food.
Hubby and I called in without a reservation and the car park was busy on a Friday lunchtime. We weren’t optimistic about getting a table for two but we were in luck.
We had a lovely welcome, great service and the food was fantastic. No photos as we were too busy tucking in.
It was refreshing to be in a busy pub with a lovely atmosphere. We were sat near the kitchen doors watching the food coming out and hearing the happy hubbub from the kitchen. Service was faultless and we would highly recommend.
Can’t wait to return as the pies looked tempting for mains and the deserts menu was a really tough decision.
As always an amazing dinner @roebuckotley , the pies are epic, and the roast beef never disappoints. Intact I have rebooked for 2 weeks time and even boxing day!
Place was amazing! Very cozy, food was amazing and plenty of seats available.
You could tell they were understaffed as the service took much longer than expected (we waited for over an hour to get our food) the line at the bar was huge but overall it was worth it.
first time customer and I would definitely return! amazing food! definitely order a dessert if you come! a little on the pricey side but a good amount for what you pay for.
The young lady that served us was fantastic! she was very efficient and really looked after us
Lovely restaurant and pub. Excellent food and service, friendly staff. Not many restaurants serve a good portion of gravy, but this one does !! Reasonably priced meals too. Highly recommend the Roebuck pub.
Long time since I visited, I remember a grass beer garden with stunning sunset views over to Ilkley, sadly, it's no more. But there is a lovely raised patio for drinks and meals, alas, no real sunset views as trees and local garages, sheds etc block the view. My pic is a cropped pic from very near the patio to give you an idea of what is lost....
Still, it's a fab country pub/diner, the food looked and smelt great, (I didn't eat), the staff were lovely, and I highly recommend it!
