My boyfriend and I had the most amazing time celebrating his birthday and our anniversary. The staff went above and beyond to make our stay wonderful, even leaving champagne and strawberries in our room to aid the celebrations. The spa and gym were amazing, really clean, welcoming, relaxing and not over crowded. Ladies the hair straightens and hair dryers in the spa were top notch too! The food in the waterside restaurant was also beautiful, we had a package that included a 3 course dinner and it was so yummy! I’m glad I didn’t eat breakfast and lunch so I could fully indulge! The portions were very generous. Can’t wait to go again! Highly recommend!
The room had a lovely canal view, we booked it for parent 60th anniversary and they enjoyed their stay very much.
We had afternoon tea with them, which was enjoyable, but I wouldn't have paid that price if it hadn't been a special occasion,
very steep. Especially since a week later we paid half the price elsewhere at a.lovely place. and got a lot more quality food and drinks for our money.
For the price we paid, they could have at least given refills for tea and coffee.
But all in all it was pleasant and we did enjoy our parents' anniversary treat.
John was fantastic in cafe ash. He went out of his way to make us feel comfortable and is excellent at customer service. Chatted to us about the coffees and made us a new coffee he was trying for Halloween. Was such a nice visit and he was the main reason it was better

Came for our 1st wedding anniversary. Room nice and clean and quiet. Could do with trees cut on balcony. The meals we had in the restaurant were lovely and the staff in the bar ( especially the manager and the girls) were fantastic with us. An absolute pleasure. Spa was nice. One day was a bit cold In the thermal side but I'm not gona moan. Only thing missing maybe a bit of entertainment and a tv in the bar and better wifi. But all in all we thoroughly enjoyed our 1st anniversary and thank you especially the bar staff for looking after us. We will definitely come back .
The room was very good and clean. I had a nice view. The service was good. The bar had nice drinks, didn't try the food but the breakfast was tasty and had a good variety. The highlight was the pool, jacuzzi and sauna which are free to use as a guest. It also had a gym and group classes. I would go again just to enjoy more the pool and the jacuzzi.
Had two night break with husband. Room worthy of a touch up of paint with a few gouges in walls but this didn't deter the enjoyment of our stay. Nice touch of bottled water in rooms and good selection of biscuits with your brew. We made full use of the gym, sauna, steam room and pool. Also, my husband enjoyed a back, neck and shoulder massage and I indulged in a full body exfoliating salt scrub. Worth noting that spa treatments are reduced if you are staying over. Only ate at the hotel for the breakfast which was buffet style and perfectly suitable. My only personal suggestion to improve the breakfast experience would be to provide freshly made tea or coffee at request as it was out of a machine. Apart from that, all good and would recommend.
We went for an anniversary meal on the 31st which was a Monday night and I honestly couldn't believe how busy it was.
We both had starters which I must a admit was a little over priced for what you got. We ordered the garlic bread and the nachos.
We then went on the mains I had a lamb burger and hubby had the fish and chips and they were both beautiful. We had a bottle of wine too.

Attended a wedding and stayed over night. Staff very helpful. Meal and breakfast very good. Sat chatting well after breakfast ended without any issues. Signage needs attention as was unclear on driving in which was the spa or hotel as they are separate. Would say it was very good but not luxury yet. Attention to detail is not there. Not sure who was reasonible for directing wedding guests because we were left to find our own way but this may have not been their responsibility. Room clean, tidy and quiet. Had everything I needed. Lay out outside needs thought again to join up parking with correct entry. Pleasant garden outside but rooms and areas not linked by any themes or intimacy to create luxury environment. Just empty rooms along side areas you are using. Right by canal and pleasant to see runners and dog walkers using the route. Access off main road well signed. Could be luxury but not there yet but very good. Didn't use the spa but wandered in by accident. Would use the hotel again. Had a quiet nights sleep.
Stunning location with the canal boats. The staff were lovely, kind, and very helpful. Food and drink was to a great standard, would definitely come back again. The only loss of one star goes towards the rips down one side of my duvet. I feel like they should invest in new bedding, however even with the rip, I slept soundly.

- Room service came in everyday and gave us some fresh water and clean towels when needed.

Cons
- There are a few small annoying things they could fix: very cheap, thin toilet paper, shower gel dispensers not working.
- We took dinner at the restaurant one evening and we were quite dissapointed. The food was good, but came in very small quantities at considerable prices.
Had a spa day & afternoon tea package here yesterday, as it was given to me as a gift through red letter days. Really enjoyed the experience - my therapist Rhianne was excellent ! Very professional and did a great job. I definitely felt very relaxed afterwards. Spa facilities were also great - very clean and plenty to choose from. The pool started to get busy around 6pm but before then it was quiet and not too crowded. I was pleased to see that there was a Lifeguard on duty too. Reception and restaurant staff were very friendly and helpful. I felt that the package was good value for money, I’d definitely visit again.
