A real local pub with a friendly feel. We were welcomed and served with fabulous food, drink and service. The atmosphere was welcoming and had a quiz later in the evening. We can’t wait to go back.
Been under steady management for a few years now, has become quite reliable! Marston’s, decent kitchen (new chef joined recently too), pretty good for burgers.
Waited a little bit longer than normal for food, but couldn’t fault it when it came (the manager did also say there was a table of 25 inside slowing things down). Nice outdoor seating area. Also, pretty good Sunday roast too.
Prices have gone up a little bit but where hasn’t
Had a meal Thursday evening, there were issues with staffing but we were served quickly and efficiently by a lady called Jess. Bar staff were also good. We ordered the hunters chicken which was nice, tasty well cooked chips but the onion rings were a little chewy but still acceptable. Overall a pleasant time at the Highwayman.
The staff were very friendly and helpful. We checked the online menu before making the booking as one of our party is vegetarian. However as a chef was off ill there was limited choice available on the menu. Our waitress discussed this with the chef, and said he would do her anything she liked. The food was plentiful and excellent and the staff were very accommodating.We will definitely be dining at The Highwayman Oswestry again. Thank you to all the staff for making our experience memorable.
We used the QR code to order. It took a while to work out how to do it. Everything on the menu was there apart for the hot drinks, so my friend had to order and then pay at the bar. The food came quickly and the staff were very friendly. All 3 of us had hunters chicken, it was nice however there was hardly any bbq sauce on the chicken so it was a bit dry. Which was a shame as the rest of it was nice and the chips were really lovely.
Good food well cooked and presented. But due to staff shortage some items were not available and we were informed at least a half hour wait for food. But it was in the table in less than 20 minutes. Which is the sort of wait we expect in all pubs offering similar service and menu most days.
The staff were attentive and the food was as we expected overall our family had a good time. We sat in the room at the front of the building closest to the kids play area, the ventilation in there was awful which is why I haven’t given 5 stars, my mum lives in a care home which has the heating high all the time she is never warm, she was sweating with the heat, it has been the same every time I’ve sat in that area which is about 3-4 times in the last 4 months.
Had a lovely meal here tonight, there was a large group of us we were well looked after, staff were exceptional. Food was great value for money. Would definitely recommend.
Came here this evening for a family meal. Didn't book a table and it seemed busy but they fit the four of us in at a table. A lady called Caroline sat us at the table. Was so polite and kind and jolly. I ordered at the bar as I had a blue light discount card. Had a good discount. I had the chicken burger with chips and it was really nice. Meals came out in good time. I can't fault our waitress Caroline, it's just so refreshing to have someone who seems happy in their job. I seen her serve other tables and she was just as Jolly. A good meal and great service. Will be back again
The staff quickly put some tables together for our party. Ordering was easy at the bar including the customisations for our son. Food served relatively quickly and was excellent. Six clear plates. Staff friendly and helpful. Excellent all round.
