What a fabulous carvery! The staff were all so friendly and fabulous at their jobs! They really couldn’t do enough for us! Not only did they squeeze us in when they weren’t taking anymore booking, but they were also extremely attentive and friendly whilst they were clearly extremely busy. Also, an amazing lemon meringue! thanks guys! Definitely worth a visit! Plus a great village for walks!
Had dinner for 8 including one child. The staff went out of their way to accomodate. Cant recommend it enough.
We had our sons christening party here last weekend. The food was lovely and fresh, the function room and pub is beautifully decorated and clean. Nothing was too much trouble for the very welcoming staff and both the chef and the landlord were fantastic.

Visited for a meal last night with friends. Food was all very tasty, service was excelent and we all had a lovely evening. Would highly recomend and will definatly be going back again soon.
Lovely Sunday carvery today! 4 choices of meat and several different vegetables. Even sausages on the side which the little ones in our party enjoyed. Super puddings! Thankyou!

Brilliant Sunday lunch, chef served us at the carvery. One of our party was gluten free and was able to eat everything except the Yorkshire pudding and stuffing. Gluten free gravy was provided so perfect for everyone. Would highly recommend a visit as the staff are welcoming and the service was excellent.
One of my favourite places to eat, I've been several times and food is always amazing as is the service. Recently I have developed some quite restrictive food intolerances and when I relayed these requirements the staff were incredibly helpful, the chef went out of his way to give me several options. The food was all absolutely incredible and I really appreciated how accommodating they were. Thank you guys!❤️
Overall, I would definitely choose to go here for my sunday dinner such a lovely little place and the food is delicious. The reason for missing one star for half a star. If I could 4 1/2 stars is the before slightly undercooked for me. Need it to be a bit more tender is a bit tough, but the turkey was delicious and the chicken was slightly overcooked everything else was delicious. The cabbage was a bit al dente put on teams of reviews. I would definitely highly recommend it. As the things that I am mentioning or just personal things, because at the end of the day, the beef was cooked, just not quite enough to make it melt in the mouth as the same with the veg.
Excellent food, steak was amazing and the sea bass was too. Excellent service from the lovely Heather. Highly recommended.

Staying in the area and it was my birthday so decided to have a meal out. What a lovely pub and lovely people. Was a Friday night and it was busy. Was a rather large party booked in at a similar time to us but the staff were very honest that we may have to wait a while... Which we didn't mind at all. Food was superb. I was absolutely full at the end. A good selection of ale on tap. This was the only night we had a meal but had called in a couple of times before just for a drink. Would definitely go again when next in the area.

We recently stayed in Trefonen and ate at the barley mow every night ( apart from Monday’s when they’re closed 😢)
We received a warm welcome every night the food was amazing every night plus the two Sunday carvery’s we had.
It was good quality and plentiful.
Heather the manageress was lovely and so friendly and bubbly, the two regular staff we met Luca and Luke were also lovely and after we had been going for a couple of nights we felt that we had known them all for ages, the chef was lovely( sorry forgot his name)
We would certainly recommend The Barley Mow to any of our friends.

Stayed in a garden lodge 4 a weekend break. Asked the man who owns it where can we get decent food he gave us this pubs information. The food was outstanding, home made chips 2. Should we visit the area again we will be stopping off at this pub 🙂🙂🙂
Had the Sunday carvery with my son after walking Offa's dyke. Brilliant service and food. Hopefully I'll get a chance to go back.

We were looking for somewhere to eat while at the balloon festival in oswestry. The Barley Mow was recommend as a dog friendly pub (we have 3 labs). We phoned ahead to book a table. Staff great, very friendly accomodated us and the dogs. Food lovely nice and relaxed. Would recommend and return when next in the area.
Absolutely amazing food, great customer service, plenty of seating outside for when the weather is warm, cannot say enough good things about this place! Would definitely go again
Went here twice when camping nearby whilst on a long distance tour on my motorbike, the bar lady and waitresses couldn't have been more friendly and attentive, the food was spot on and generally just had a great atmosphere, a lovely place to eat and would definitely recommend!
Honestly, no bull , really enjoyable food, extremely tasty well worth a visit,three nights in a row three different meals all fantastic.will definitely return, great friendly people and great atmosphere.
