This place was a lucky find. Trying to find a pitch for the night in our camper. Pulled into the Lime Kiln, asked the two questions. Being can we eat and can we also stay in your carpark. Both question greeted with a positive response. The guy behind the bar had 3 days before taken over this pub. Really great beer was on draft. Small menu which shows the food was being prepared fresh. Guess it's not a given. However the barman James a chef had a fellow chef in the kitchen. We spent a great evening in the pub, log fire roaring away. Good banter with James. Good food from the kitchen and a short walk to the comfort of the van for the nights sleep. If you want to stop over here book first. They dont have a huge amount of room nor do they want 20 vans taking up all spaces.

We had a chance find with The Lime Kiln this week (Tue 18 July), but what a find! Pulled in to stretch our legs and have a coffee, ended up chatting with the nice guy behind the bar (didn’t ask for his name sorry) and eyeing up some good looking food that he was brought out for the other customer in there. We ended up eating and staying for over two hours! Had a great burger with a Thai / Vietnamese twist (so tasty and cheap!!), and he made a decent coffee… The guy was no barista, but it was a solid latte. It was pretty quiet, but it was early in the week and hadn’t long been open. We were told that it’s early days for the new owners and they are still fine tuning things, but it came across as a proper little gem to us. Thanks and all the best!

Lovely place for food and drink. We came for lunch on a Thursday afternoon. Highly recommended the home made fish finger butty. It was very tasty and reasonably priced. We were well looked after by Chris. Good choice of beers and a good location. We will be back again.

Fantastic place!! Went for Sunday roast today with the family. It was packed. Service was fast and efficient. Friendly staff made you feel at home, even the dog got treats ( great idea btw ) Cannot recommend enough, will be going back and back. Family friendly country pub with a heart. Didn’t want to leave!!!

Recently re-opened after a change of ownership, we've only just managed to visit after a birthday day out in Shrewsbury. Our mistake - we've left it far to long to come and sample the menu! AMAZING FOOD! The chef (owner) has such a knowledge and depth to his palate, it really shines through in his offerings which, in our mind, play between tapas sharing and full-plate meals. A couple of real ales on, fire and very friendly staff - we need to get this back on our regular haunts eating out list! Exquisite dining at locals rates in the Tanat Valley - what a gem! Many, many thanks.

Just ended a week away in Shropshire with a final night's meal at The Lime Kiln. The staff were friendly and attentive and made us and our dog feel very welcome. We could not fault the food, it was fresh, hot and very tasty. Only wish we had come earlier in our holiday so that we could have come again.

Well impressed. Excellent all round. Very accommodating even though my brother has lots of food tolerance issues. The cheif was excellent. Definitely the best meal I've had for a long time. very good value, all prices on the menu were very good too. 😁👍

Great welcome. Under new management and great to see a chef with ideas and vision. Steak and fish and chips were ordered, both beautiful. Also great value for money. Can't wait to see what they do with the permanent menu.

OK so it was clear today that they were understaffed, this was made clear upon arrival by the very friendly host, who was clearly working above and beyond to do his best, it seemed only him and chef were there doing the best they could. Now this would normally prompt a lot of complaints from some, but I for one am not complaining and appreciate the effort put in here, yes a bit slow but I'd rather that than quick and sloppy. The Sunday roast was simply one of the best I've had in some time in this area, proper food tasty and home cooked. If it was just the 2 of you may I say we'll done, you have my seal of approval and looking forward to returning in the week time. I hope you do well, if it's judged on hard work and quality produce, you should do well. Thank you. See you again soon.

Great experience at this restaurant. We were 5 hungry people with varied tastes on a quiet weekday & the owner served us in a very pleasant & flexible way. We definitely recommend & intend to come back on a weekend for the roasts !

Stopped in for tea and scones... No scones but had a excellent brownie instead. Very chocolatey! Dogs allowed. We sat in the garden which was very green and quiet considering the road close by. Good menu looks good, so will be back for a meal soon. Very friendly staff.

The Lime Kiln is under new ownership and what a cracking job they are doing! We rocked up in our camper van and were given a fantastic meal, great service and conversation. For a £20 voucher ( booking advised) we were allowed to stay overnight in the camper and then the £20 was used towards the cost of our food and drinks. In the morning we were treated to a first class cooked breakfast. To top it all off, there's a great walk behind the pub where you can see the old Lime kiln works. There's also a great beer garden. We'll worth a visit 😁

O lovely pub for food and a group of friends. Lovely beer garden and lively staff. For the food it does need to be cooked much faster but except from that I would deffinitely come again.

Stopped by on our way back from a get away and was just expecting to get some standard slap up pub grub, ended up with some great quality well seasoned dishes. Portion sizes good, taste 10/10 and really friendly staff.
